Boyle County 58 Garrard County 48 (45th District Semfinal)

Boyle smothered them on D tonight. Harper Webb played sparingly due to his ankle sprain. Proud of the Rebs tonight. Gritty win.

Wheeler has really stepped up for the Rebels.  Smooth shooting left handed shot!

Where was Clay Pendagraft for Boyle?

Sick. Been out all week.

Why did Garrard play zone the whole first half, and the game is tight and come out and play man to man to start 2nd half?  Credit to Boyle, playing through a ton of illness and injuries.  Big time guts.  Garrard appeared tight outside of Caldwell and Noe.  Montgomery didn't have his best stuff, and for an all-region guy you need that in big games.

Congrats to Coach Todd and the Rebels.....

Good question.  Boyle only had 19 points at halftime if I remember correctly.

Maybe it was similar thinking to what DCA did in the first game.  Lincoln was in that 2-3 but not extending it much and DCA doesn’t rely on the three point shot.  They put more pressure on Lincoln to try to create some opportunities on offense and it worked.

I didn’t see the recent game in which Garrard defeated Boyle.  Did their man to man work then?

Not sure, didn't watch the matchup.  I just thought it was odd.  Potentially, you're right and they thought they needed to create tempo to score.

Boyle's last game against Larue they played same type of zone and Boyle turned it over like crazy.  I am sure Garrard scouted that game.

I liked the zone.  The zone defense was effective and held them to 19 first half points.  It was a good strategy against Boyle.

Owen Wheeler has been playing great basketball lately.

I was impressed with him when they played @ Somerset a few weeks ago.
