Cats Pause 14th Region Rankings
He got the VCU offer for the same reason all the rest of the Magic kids have VCU offers. Assistant there is boys with Ellis Myles so he gets his kids "offered". But I'll believe Oumar is a VCU caliber player when he signs his scholarship. The kid has no post game and can't make a jump shot. He's an above average rim protector. He has no other skills. And I don't see Coach Stansbury taking a chance on him at WKU. But having said all that, I may be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.

Cats Pause 14th Region Rankings
Oumar Keita is as good now as he was in 8th grade. Which is to say not very good. Tall and a good athlete. That's about it.

UHA's KyKy Tandy Picks up Major Offer
KyKy already has an Oklahoma offer. Kyle Rode likely plays high major in a system fit like a Butler or Wisconsin where he can thrive. David Johnson at Trinity has interest from Louisville and Kentucky. He projects as a HM 2 guard. Moreno is about a 2-3 inch growth spurt from being a HM PF or SF. Dontaie Allen will be a HM SG or SF. JJ Weaver can be a High Major 4 in an uptempo system but already has HM Football offers so who knows where he winds up. Again, these are all just my opinion. And I'm probably forgetting someone.

10th Region Cats Pause Player Rankings
Dontaie Allen is the best player in the 10th and it's not even close. He's going to be a high major Division 1 player.

Is 2019 the best class to come through Kentucky in recent memory?
What I've seen of 2020 is not impressive at all.

UHA's KyKy Tandy Picks up Major Offer
2019 class is loaded with high major talent!

Lexington Christian 2016/2017
Except Tre is very young for his class and should reclassify to 2018. Braxton was already very old for his class and will be a couple months shy of 21 when he enrolls in college.

Basketball Scholarship Offers
the 2019 class has potentially several HM players. Dontaie Allen and KyKy Tandy are high major talents offensively but neither can guard a chair. Michael Moreno is 3 more inches of height away from being HM. Kyle Rode can play at that level depending on the system fit or if he can grow two inches. And JJ Weaver will have basketball offers but he's already been offered by Louisville for football so we'll see what happens down the line with his recruiting.

2018 SG CJ Fredrick (Covington Catholic)
I read that his uncle played for Coach McCaffery at Notre Dame so there was a family connection. Was also told by someone who would know that Butler is about to offer. Love to see high major kids in KY but I hate to see them playing out of state for AAU. Wish all the Ky kids would stay home.

Kurt Young: Mercer County new head coach
His biggest task will be finding someone other than Trevon who can score the ball.

Great coach. Awesome guy. Had to take the fall at NKU when they told Bezold to cut his staff loose. Then they got rid of Bezold the next year.

Lexington Catholic 2016/2017
I watched him in 4 or 5 summer games this June. Still not a fan. Volume shooter who is more of a shot taker than a shot maker. Average athlete at best. Not good laterally. Struggles to guard. Just my opinion. But I do think it is an informed one as I have seen about 15 Lex Cath games between last season and summer ball this year. I have not seen him play AAU

Lexington Catholic 2016/2017
Love Luke Johnson. Not a TC Price fan or the Blake kid that takes several 3s per game. They should be able to exploit the post with Zan, Peter Whitman, Max Sparkman and possibly the two sophomores. Donovan Morris graduating is a blessing. Expect your more typical Lex Cath team. 2-2-1 press, the same sets they always run and lots of 3s. They'll be fun to watch.

Kurt Young is probably the guy

So he and his brother are eligible at Pulaski for sure?

Pre season top 10 rankings
The sad truth is that colleges aren't overlooking Hoptown but that most Hoptown athletes can't qualify for anything but junior college after high school. The coaches and administrators at County and Hoptown are failing these kids. They should be watching out for the young men and women and pushing them to make sure they academically qualify for the NCAA. Unfortunately most of the Hoptown athletes of the last 5 years have been forced to head to Juco and most don't last. In the past 5 years, I'm not sure anyone but Jordan Majors qualified D1 academically. I'm not from Hoptown and don't have a dog in the fight but I wish all their athletes were getting pushed academically enough that they would be qualifiers and have the opportunity to go D1.

Oh well that's good. The CB one is the only one I had seen reported anywhere

So he turned down his only current offer to play college basketball?

Open Job: Mercer County
I was told Josh Hamlin is trying to get it. Ironically, Cook fired him from last year's staff. He may stand a chance since he is already employed in the district.

If true, I apologize for the error. I may have gotten my Austin C's confused.

While I am not at all shocked (I think the kid is D3 level in college), he has committed to UPike. Per his twitter a couple days ago.

2 of those AAU coaches mentioned have multiple years of experience as high school coaches.

Leaving Taylor County after about 6 weeks there would be a bold move lol.
