I would pick Male as the favorite as well, and many great players at many of the other schools in this Region as well who are comparable to those listed for Male and Ballard. Pitching is the key to those other teams getting past Ballard or Male. Eastern had the Region won last year against Male until some things didn't go their way late so stranger things have happened. Should be a fun year in this Region.

Mercy lost Elizabeth Anderson again apparently for 4-6 weeks. Poor kid!

Yes, they can and Murray will do so, but my point was who cares if they have an All A Classic. As someone else pointed out, it is a tournament no different than the LIT or Queen of the Bluegrass, etc. I don't understand why anyone would complain about it.

Agreed that they can play with anybody, but I don't think they are better than the 4 above them. As far as SK v. Murray? I don't know because of the addition of Harney as you mentioned. Only time will tell I suppose.

It was not a game for the faint of heart, and Male was very physical. However, Butler certainly matched them with intensity and physicality. I didn't think it was a dirty game on either side but was very physical to be sure.

I will say this, if Male doesn't have 3-4 girls in top 10 to 15 players in 7th region then I have a bridge to sell to you! Harbison, Browning, Sexton, Hogan and Calvert can all flat out play! Butler extremely talented as well. I think the level of teams in this Jefferson County area may be at an all-time high between Male, Butler, Bullitt East, Sacred Heart, Eastern and many other very good teams.

Actually as good as these teams are (both top 5 in my opinion), it was somewhat sloppy. But the runs by both teams were just crazy. Male went from 7 up in second quarter to 9 down at half. Then came out and went up 4, then down 4, then pulling away. It was like Round 1 of Hearns-Hagler, LOL!

Butler at Male!!!!! Wow, that should be an early season battle!

Absolutely and it's the same in many other sports. My daughter has interest and can play at Division 1 softball level but ultimately will probably go Division 2 because of the educational areas of interest that she wants to pursue.

I think both Male and Sacred Heart do albeit some are just Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen!

Yes, Elder has apparently transferred to Butler but not sure what will happen.

As I said before in my response above, very helpful as my daughter is a senior also, and I didn't realize your daughter was as I was thinking/hoping she was already in college, LOL! By way of update from that response, my daughter has now applied to 11 schools which range from Division 1 schools, Purdue, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Dayton and Butler (Dayton and Butler tepidly recruiting her for softball and says she at least has a preferred walk-on spot, accepted to all of them) to Division 2 schools (that are recruiting her for softball), Missouri S&T, University of Indianapolis (joint degree program with Purdue)(accepted by both) to Division 3 programs, Transylvania University, Washington University in St. Louis, Centre College and Rose-Hulman and being recruited hard by all with a guaranteed roster spot from coaches. She has had overnights to Missouri S&T, Indianapolis, Transy and Rose-Hulman but you are correct with your advice about that process. I just wondered where she was in school since her situation sounded so much like my daughter's situation. Thanks again for the information.

That's very interesting as my daughter has the exact same interest as a major. So where did your daughter end up going to college? I am curious what she decided in light of thinking D1-D3. My daughter is in same boat for softball currently as a Senior.
