Region 7

Featured Replies

This region comes down to 2 teams, Ballard and Male. Both teams are loaded with talent. Male has Suski, Walls, Case, and McCoy, and Ballard has, Brill, Houston, Skaggs and Kelley. I know Both teams have more outstanding players, but those are the ones that came to mind. Male has owned this region the last 4 years. Is this the year Ballard gets passed Male? As for the rest of the region, you have about 5 solid teams that will compete with most teams outside their region.

I would pick Male as the favorite as well, and many great players at many of the other schools in this Region as well who are comparable to those listed for Male and Ballard. Pitching is the key to those other teams getting past Ballard or Male.

Eastern had the Region won last year against Male until some things didn't go their way late so stranger things have happened. Should be a fun year in this Region.

Rocketsdad, Didn't Eastern and Assumption lose their best pitchers? Who will replace them?

Yes, both did. Kailee Gish will be Assumption's main pitcher, and she struggled with a foot injury last season. Two years ago as a Sophomore, she shut down Ballard in the Opening Round of the 7th Region tournament 1-0 so she has shown the signs that she can be a strong pitcher.

Eastern will probably rely on Brittany Ernst who is hot and cold and hopefully for them has developed more pitches in the off-season.

Both teams should have strong offenses and defenses, though, but pitching and pitching depth will definitely be a question-mark.

I forgot about Brittany Ernst, she stopped pitching for a while. Great kid and family.
