I know this conversation passed its expiration date, but these two comments came to mind today for whatever reason. While Stanley and Fox left holes, the team also lost about 20ppg to graduation and Chase Good, who is leading the other team in the county in scoring this season. As you were.

12-3 runs happen all the time in basketball. That this one occurred over the final 4:30 just means WV is closing out games. Let’s not discount the fact that Walton was the only team in the 8th last season to allow less than 1600 points (1554) while playing four more games than the only other teams to allow less than 1700. (Spencer Co- 1608 and SK- 1641)

Hard for me to vote anyone other than Dontaie without having seen them. The young man appears well on his way to another standout season. That's not to say those are unimpressive lines from the rest of the field. Lots of talent sprinkled throughout the 8/9/10.

To clarify, #10 is Brady Montgomery, a wing who is dangerous attacking the basket and from range. Fully capable of posting 30 on any unsuspecting defense. EDIT: Maybe Brady and/or Coach Reitz don’t want me to give up that secret, but he’s just a talented kid.

Another Demon, Fred Hale, who holds the 10th highest career points total in the KHSAA record book, was on scholarship to UofL, but appears to have only played on the freshman team according to THIS media guide from 12/15/73. No records of him moving up to the varsity squad.

Williamstown Arnie Risen- EKU->Ohio St. There’s another from the late 80s/early 90s, Brian Milburn might have been his name. Finished HS at Russell or somewhere but he ended up at Vandy.

This is how I see it, however, IF McKnight can force his man to guard him outside of 10 feet, Collins will be right there with them playing for the opportunity to represent the 8th. Even if the jumper doesn’t develop the way I hope it does, that’s a dangerous team, and strange things happen when it’s win or go home.

I don't know enough about the team to opine on that. I know enough about stats to assume Clos will be the primary scoring option, and as a result will pick up the lion's share of Bertsch/Heygi's combined 300+ FT attempts. Based on this, he's my pick for leading scorer.
