If you notice, Rucker got my vote, and apparently that's wrong too, alas... Rupp has hosted the best college basketball program in America over its 40+ years of operation, along with 20+ years hosting the best high school basketball tournament in America. It's not too outlandish to believe it belongs in the conversation.

"The Greatest Show in Hoops" lead me to legitimately believe Rupp Arena is one of the premier venues in all of basketball. I'm a victim of 20+ years of conditioning. The KHSAA has programmed my conditioning. Even my conditioning has been conditioned.

In the college game, the three heavyweights I mentioned are the three synonymous with winning basketball. Some people don't view the NBA as real basketball. Foolish as it seems, they probably wouldn't consider MSG near the top. So yeah, I think worldwide there would be more than a few who would name Rupp before MSG.

The Garden was considered, but who plays there now? Maybe replace UC with Staples if that suits you.

Even the homer pick is justified. I'd say these seven venues have seen more high-quality basketball players, coaches, and games than anywhere else on the globe can claim.

If Basketball were a country, which court/gym/arena would be its capitol city?

Looking at the team, they lose five key contributors to graduation, and seven seniors altogether, but as of now, return a talented trio of seniors-to-be, in Isaiah Voet, Jamal Neal, and Evan Molitor. I'm not too familiar with the underclassmen, but Devin McClendon's younger brother, Devion is a PG with a nice game. Defending their district title will be a tall task, but the development of Neal and Voet keep it in play.

Unfortunately, a lot of how we measure a HS coach's success is determined before the coach even gets to watch the kids play. I don't know if it's right, but I think informing kids at an early age, 8-12(full disclosure, I don't know at what age a child can process that information) how advantageous sports can be in furthering one's education and love for the game, should be a requirement asked of all coaches, from Little League, all the way up to the varsity level, and even college coaches. There's a fine line there to avoid burnout, but getting kids to the next level is a seriously undervalued aspect of being a head coach, and next-level players, generally speaking, make for better teams. Wins are nice, and if you're able to be a great leader of young (wo)men along the way, that's ideal, but to stoke the passion a kid has for a sport and inspire, not force, them to take their talents as far as they can is next-level coaching.
