  1. That's about the time I was thinking... Definitely nothing in my lifetime.
  2. He was most definitely "grabbing" for something. What? I have no idea, but he got a nice handful of facemask. Definitely not 1000' further away from the play than you. Can't even begin to imagine how you would come up with that number. That's almost 3 football fields farther away than you. I'd have to be past the baseball field, arena, or hovering in a blimp to get that far away from anywhere you may have been. Being an obvious mayfield fan, there is absolutely no possible way for you to have had a better view of that play than me. Unless ofcoarse you were a player or ref on the field. As a fan, you could have been CLOSER on the mayfield side, but looking through cheerleaders and looking at the back of the newcath player. Even if you were on the field/sidelines, your view would have been obstructed or not at a clear angle. At least not clear enough for you to think you saw the ball hit the ground before the catch. If my math is correct (geometry was never my strong suit), and if the pathagorean theorem is still valid, at 5'10, I would estimate my eyes to have been a distance of between 170'-180' away from the play. I can see why you'd think you shouldn't have brought it up... being wrong and all...
  3. Ball did not bounce off the turf... It was caught clean. The face mask was actually worse than what you are calling for. #3 was down, on the ground a step before #9 put his hands on him. Didn't have to touch him. Even if he wanted to touch #3 down, it didn't call for grabbing the face mask as he ran by.
  4. Yes. 24 Freppon had one. 1st play of their 2nd drive of 1st qtr.
  5. Might have be the results of the many hands to the face (under the facemask) and facemask grabs by Mayfield. But that was Mayfield doing it, so you probably didn't see it.
  6. Now it looks like they are throwing baby powder packets.
  7. Some of the khsaa staff weren't sure. They were all over the radio about it.
  8. Until posted here, how many people actually knew it was a rule?
  9. Short of those top 5 schools closing, or having a "down decade", I'd say that they will stay the top 5 for a very very long time. From Valdosta's website: Beginning in 1913 the Valdosta Wildcats Football Program has achieved a level of excellence that is unmatched by any other high school program in the nation compiling a record of 899 wins, 220 losses and 34 ties. From a Highlands football website: Highlands High School has been in existence since 1888 and the school has been playing football since 1915. The first call for football occurred on September 17, 1915, and Highlands' first football practice was held in the school auditorium on October 18, 1915. Wiki: On Saturday, November 18, 1893, the annual Male-Manual football rivalry, the longest running, continuously played, high school football series in Kentucky, began.
  10. Maybe Brady's attorney can give them some advice
  11. My apologies With the amount of whining going on about this, what I heard in your post was "why could highlands use their middle school"
  12. Texas has theirs at Cowboy stadium. Even playoff games! And they have high school stadiums that would look empty if hosting the KY finals!
  13. CovCath is even closer at 4 miles away. Different county though.
  14. And? what's your point? Should Newport have moved their game to NCC? Or are you saying Highlands should have used their middle school? Either way... WHO CARES? Seems like a bunch of people have their panties in a bunch over scheduling? OBVIOUSLY the fine folks at NewCath had no issue with it. There has to be something more interesting to complain about than this... Good grief!
  15. I'm sure that are more things than just this that you've never heard about
  16. Maybe the folks up on the hill aren't blanking blank blanks and decided to help out a neighbor. It didn't just happen today. I've known about the Highlands/SH game for about 2 weeks.
  17. LIQUID emotions maybe. As I recall Beechwood has a similar issue with the tailgating before, well, anything.
  18. The SK fans are ridiculous. Varsity, JV, and freshmen games.
