  1. Having watched film for three days, i'm convinced MF controls this one with their running game. I don't see OC stopping the run without bringing help into the box, which MF will make them pay for. MF's defense, being built for speed, will give OC's offense fits. OC has a great QB, but i think he spends most of the night watching from the sideline as Mr. Bright does his thing. MF 28 OC 14.
  2. zoneblitz2; head over to Chow 45 (1102 Paducah Rd, Mayfield, KY). Order the chocolate covered bacon as your appetizer and the hot brown for your entrée. You won’t be disappointed.
  3. Pardon the interruption for this public service announcement, but I wanted to remind our guests coming in from Owensboro that Mayfield plays their home games in War Memorial Stadium located at 950 West Lockridge Street. If you chart your course to the high school, you will be in the wrong place. I look forward to seeing you there.
  4. Does anyone know if OC had their full complement of players in the Daviess game? I'm looking at that film and I feel like some of the pieces were missing, especially on defense.
  5. I like MF's defensive gameplan for containing Henderson. MF's offense will be a little vanilla, but should be enough to win this one by 3 TDs. MF 31 - BC 10.
  6. No 2a team is coming into War Memorial and putting up 41s or 49s on this MF defense. I think most teams will struggle and find themselves in the 14-17 point range at best. If MF's offense can produce something north of 20 points they should be good to go.
  7. Which calls do you have a problem with exactly? Is it the two blatant blocks in the back that weren't called on the punt return that gifted you a touchdown (2:16:50 of the linked video you posted)? Are you actually suggesting that at 2:31:58 of the video you linked, the receiver wasn't covered up? I'm sorry, but asking people to listen to the hometown radio guy say he didn't like the officiating fails to prove anything. Point to three (3) bad calls against CC and I will show you five (5) that went against MF. I'm sick of people suggesting MF was handed this game. They most certainly were not. MF fought hard for this win against a great team and the victory was EARNED. In the game of fb, you are going to have some things that don't go your way. MF teaches their kids you can't control such things, so focus on that which you can control. When things are stacked against you (as they were for MF on Fri. night), you dig deeper, work harder, and give that much more. I guess you prefer the whine, claim you were cheated, feel sorry for yourself approach. Perhaps our differing attitudes toward adversity is why the scoreboard ended up the way it did.
  8. Mayfield's defense was the difference in this game. 21 of CCs points came on 3 plays: pick 6, punt return and one long breakaway running play. Mayfield's defense controlled things otherwise. MFs O spit and sputtered, but did enough to be in a position to win at the end. Bottom line, MF was the better team and made plays when they mattered the most. This was about a gritty team finding the heart to grind out a tough win. CC fans coming on here with silly conspiracy theories about MF alums being planted as referees should be ashamed at their attempts to disparage what MF accomplished in this game.
  9. Those eager to dine on Cardinal are often force feed a face full of Crow.
  10. Does anyone have an address for Webster County's stadium?
  11. Mayfield parents and fans do join the players down on the field after games.
  12. Tyler is a great blocker with strong full-back skills. I'd like to see Tyler leading Arnett on some draw plays on occassion. Tyler lead-blocking for Bright would be scary good!
