Bottom line is we have got to get better on the line of scrimmage. Lucky to get this win but I'll take it.

Murray is a good ball club! Hornbuckle "Duke Commit" is one of the best DE I have seen in a long time! The kid was all over the field and gave us fits all night. Defense played pretty good tonight as usual. Offense on the other hand struggled in the first half but came out in the second half and played better after a few adjustments. Murray did turn the ball over I think 5 times but the majority of them was the hard hitting from our defense. Would not be surprised to see Murray again!

Ugly, AGAIN! Give Murray credit, they force you to play ugly. Murray is one demensioal, if your strong up front you will beat them. Mayfield, is just not very good in either line, fortunately, we are balanced and that keeps the defense honest. Kevin Caldwell was the difference in this game, came in as backup running back and put the team on his back and carried them. I'm still not convinced that this is a state championship caliber team.

Great, but tough win for the Cardinals. Our offense was completely ineffective with Tyler running the ball. Everything changed when Caldwell took over in the backfield in the second half. Thank goodness our defense had some "good stretches", but Murray really helped us out by putting the ball on the ground so many times. Tucker for Murray ran the ball well in the first half, but for some reason, they hardly gave it to him in the second half...didn't understand that move by the Murray coaching staff.

Things got really chippy in the fourth quarter with both teams losing their respective heads on several occasions...it will be an interesting rematch to say the least.

Murray dominated the 1st half everywhere except the scoreboard.. Mayfield outplayed the Tigers in the 2nd half, not to the degree that Murray outplayed them in the 1st, but, did have a great opening drive to get the lead and held Murray's vaunted rushing attack in check. The Cardinals also had another TD called back on a penalty and managed another field goal for the final 10 point lead. Murray made a few nice plays in the 2nd half, but, for the most part, the Cardinals defense played well. Things got very chippy towards the end of the game and a couple of times, it got close to breaking into something ugly. Luckily, both teams managed to keep their composure and didn't let things get too out of hand. However, you can bet, if these 2 teams meet again in the playoffs, it'll be another war and the Tigers will have a chip on their shoulders.

Me either, Rookie. I think they have the skill kids a plenty and are solid on defense at the LB and DB positions, but, they're going to have to improve in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Getting Bright back will help, but, Tyler proved last week and Caldwell this week, that they can get the job done. That's not where they're getting beat. Arnett hasn't been nearly as accurate passing the ball the past 3-4 weeks as he was early in the season, where he was hitting on everything and about an 80% clip. He needs to get back to where he was early and the line's going to have to give him some time to throw it.

 

The good thing is, they get a much needed off week next week to get over the bumps and bruises and then have 2 teams they should have no trouble with to find there footing and get back on track. Hopefully those things will get them over the hump and they can, once again, make it back to Bowling Green. I have confidence that this coaching staff will have them hitting on all cylinders when it counts. Will that be enough, who knows. Only time will tell.

Mayfield was definitely more effective with Caldwell running the ball. A decent running game helps us out in the passing department.

Things got chippy and I thought we might have a fight during or after the game. I have no doubt that we will see Murray again and they will come into War Memorial confident. I'm hoping we will be up to full strength which will make the task easier.

yes, You were like this last season. If we don't blow every team out , you think we aren't a state title team but sometimes good teams make you not play as good. Murray was a good team.
