My favorite part of Dayton’s field was always the corner of the end zone being behind the fence. I didn’t get a photo of it but they even drew the white line corner of then end zone on the blacktop behind the fence.

A week away from the first exhibition in the new season. Excitement is definitely back in Card Nation, and the consensus seems to be that this team is going to have to go out there and show the country the Louisville basketball is back on the map. After a disastrous 2 seasons under Kenny Payne that netted 12 total wins, Louisville hopes to top that in Pat Kelsey's first season, and hopefully return to the big dance. Louisville has completely revamped its roster and brought in some high-profile players like former 4-star recruit Chucky Hepburn from Wisconsin, Pac-12 sixth man of the year Koren Johnson from Washington, and Sun Belt Player of the year Terrence Edwards, Jr. from James Madison. Some projections have Louisville finishing as high as 4th in the ACC, but more realistically looking like a bubble team. What say you? 2024-25_Full_Schedule.pdf

I think NewCath has come back down from the early season success and I think Newport has continued to improve each week under Coach Wiggins. While I think ultimately NewCath gets the running clock, I think Newport makes a game of it for a while before NCC finally pulls away in the second half.

I think this is an important program culture building win. With a football program like Brossart’s that is still growing, wins over top 10 teams that have been established as quality opponents for this class, matters. One step at a time and kids can get excited for a football program that is on its way up. Kudos to this coaching staff. I can’t wait to see how far they can push progress in the playoffs over the next year or two.

I think we'll get a really good look at how close these top 10 teams are this week with Raceland vs NewCath and Campbellsville vs Bethlehem, If both games are close (which I think they will be) I think it will be a good indication of a very exciting 1A playoffs this year.

I think you have a toss-up here. Both teams are coming into this game with something to prove. I think the winner comes away by a field goal or less, that’s how close I think these two teams are. I picked NewCath because I think they have some real weapons that will be looking to break out after last week. Ultimately I think we’ll see a game changing play to be the difference maker.

NewCath’s offense doing whatever they want tonight. The only Scott touchdown was a snap over the NewCath’s QB helmet. Instead of falling on it he tried to pick it up but couldn’t secure the ball. Scott DL picked up for a scoop n’ score big man touchdown. NewCath has found two broken coverage touchdown’s where the WR didn’t have a Scott defender within 10/15 yards and their running game is tough to bring down running in large chunks.
