NewCath comes off easy work of rival Newport and heads to Dayton to take on the Green Devils as they are coming off a loss to rival Bellevue in the battle for the paddle.
Dayton will have their work cut out for them to keep it close. Running clock seems likely, just a matter of which quarter.

If anyone is planning to attend, I would buy tickets online and get there early. A big crowd is expected with this being the last varsity football game at Davis Field. From what I’ve heard, several class reunion groups are coming and I know several others who went to Dayton are too if not part of the reunion get togethers.

While the game will be ugly, it will be a memorable night with this being the last game. Former Dayton and current Newport Catholic coach Steve Lickert had some very nice things to say about Dayton and his time there in a tweet thread yesterday.

The majority of people going will be going to go to Davis Field one more time, no question about that.

Anyone have an easy link to purchase tickets ahead of the game Friday night?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is Dayton getting a new field?

Man, that’s awesome. That’s wonderful for that program and those kids.

Yes it is. Hopefully it does much better with bringing more students out and more importantly, retaining them between the times of youth and middle school football.

Pretty cool t-shirt made for it.

I have not heard of any. If others know I’m sure they will post.

I'm still hoping they take that stone entrance/ticket booth & somehow use it at the new field.

I did hear something is planned with the new complex to commemorate Davis. I’m not sure of what but supposedly a plan of some kind is in the works.
