  1. Pikeville Panthers 2024 Schedule: 8/23 at Corbin 8/31 vs Johnson Central (PCB) 9/07 at LCA (Bowl Game) 9/13 at Raceland 9/20 vs Belfry 9/27 BYE 10/4 vs Ironton (OH) 10/11 vs Dohn Community (OH) 10/18 at Paintsville 10/25 vs Hazard 11/01 at Boyd Co
  2. I think the two biggest challengers to Pikeville next season will be Sayre and Campbellsville. I still expect the Panthers to be the heavy favorites to bring home their 4th straight title.
  3. Curious as to why you think either Campbellsville or KCD could play with Raceland or Pikeville? I’m not trying to throw shade, I’m genuinely interested. I haven’t seen KCD or Campbellsville play in person.
  4. This should be a good game. Is it being streamed? If not, how could I listen to the game?
  5. You get to add Belfry to the 2A mix starting in 2025. Man, talk about a loaded class. Should make for some memorable playoff matchups.
  6. Pikeville confirmed the game against Dohn Community. The Panthers will travel there for a Thursday night game on October 5th. I have no information on the Dohn program, so I don’t know what to expect from the game.
  7. Word is Pikeville will be traveling to Fairdale Week 6.
  8. 1999 Pikeville Panthers. They lost the first game of the season to Boyle County (which happened to be the first of Boyle’s 47 consecutive wins from 99-02). Pikeville didn’t lose again until the state semis when they went on the road against Beechwood. I think Pikeville was up by two scores in the 4th quarter, but couldn’t hold on to the lead. Beechwood went on to beat Hancock County pretty handily in the state title game. The 99 team was a great football team and come up just short of winning it all (in my opinion).
  9. Followed up by Raceland at home and then Belfry on the road
  10. Are they open in week 6, 7, or 8? Pikeville is looking for a game and will travel from what I’ve been told.
  11. That’s a real solid schedule. They should be battle tested when playoffs come around. Well done.
  12. No, I don’t think they’d play just anyone. Based on their previous schedules, it appears they will play a team they think they can matchup with and play a competitive game. I don’t think they’d take a game just to get outmatched and punished. There are a lot of teams in the state that would do that to Pikeville, regardless of what others might say.
  13. Pikeville is looking for 3 more games. They are open the following dates: 9/22/23 (Week 6) 9/29/23 (Week 7) 10/6/23 (Week 8 ) 10/27/23 (Week 11)
  14. There are a lot of holes to fill on both sides of the ball. Hopefully, the returning players got enough experience to carry the team through the first part of the season until everyone falls into their role. They do have some good players coming back who contributed in many ways, but the losses on the OL and DL will take its toll early. From what I’m hearing, the 2023 schedule will be as, if not more, difficult than last season’s gauntlet. The opponents I’ve heard so far are Pulaski County, Johnson Central, LCA, Raceland, Belfry, Paintsville (D), and Hazard (D). While the Panthers are the two time reigning champs, they will definitely have their work cut out for them this year if they’re to make it three in a row.
  15. 2023 Pike County Bowl Belfry vs GRC (at Belfry) Pikeville vs Johnson Central (at Pikeville)
  16. I read on another thread that Pikeville has openings on 9/22 and 9/29, 10/6 and 10/27.
