Hazard travels to Pikeville Friday night for a showdown for the 1 seed in District 7. Pikeville is coming off a 41-0 victory over Paintsville. Hazard was on its bye last week. Who wins this matchup? 

Imo, Hazard will be more competition than what Paintsville gave at Memorial Field. Although Paintsville is trying to heal up from injuries incurred in recent games, as well as Pikeville. Pikeville looked better overall last night as those silly special teams mistakes were better controlled and easier on the eyes. Don't know anything about this season's edition of the bull dawgs, but they always put up a great fight either at their place or Hambley. Imo, the Panthers get the W in this one as they seem to be on the right track now, even though they're still playing with some injuries.  

Always a battle between Pikeville and Hazard over the years. Can’t tell how many of these games I’ve seen. Even at Pikeville, no easy task for the Panthers. They will have their hands full. I’m pulling for the Panthers.

Hazard has NEVER won a regular season game at Pikeville EVER.

They definitely may not win, but I don’t think they will lay an egg like this did against Raceland a couple weeks ago.  But Hazard did respond nicely after that beaten from Raceland with a 2nd quarter running clock against Paintsville. The back ups got atleast 2 whole quarters of work.

Pikevilles performance against Paintsville this past week wasn’t very Pikeville like compared to years past where the game would have been over way way early. Pikeville didn’t get the running clock until like 3 minutes left in the 3rd. But they could have been working on things but who knows. Anthony did get more touches in this game than he did in the past few games.

More than likely the better team those nights.

In modern day since 1998 and as far as the scoreboard goes back Hazard holds a slight edge 5-4 in the playoffs at Pikeville, and a 6-5 at both.

Pikeville is the much better team in all 3 phases.

I think all Pikeville fans will never forget that playoff loss in 2020 as that was a hard lesson to learn. Good luck and injury free game to both teams this Friday evening!

Yeah, I think they were trying on some passing situations, but didn't pan out too good for them. The good thing is everyone is HEALTHIER than they have been except for one player, so hopefully they're about ready for the 2nd season.

As they shouldn’t. But Pikeville has had that happen two more times in its history. Hazard in 2006, and Paintsville in 2014.  All those teams were beat soundly in the regular season at Pikeville. But yes I hope everyone gets out of this one injury free.
