I don't see this one being all that tight really. I think Greenup is riding high off of a pretty easy schedule so far. I think Raceland by at least a couple scores. I could be wrong and I'll eat my words and apologize I just dont see it.

No problem. Freshman game is next Thursday at Ashland.

This game was 8th grade. Number 10 for Ashland is a beast!

I think line play is the big factor for even those close to the program. As far as QB's go its Damon then a sophomore and two freshman. Not a knock on any of them they are just young and inexperienced but I don't believe any of them would play on Fridays if something would happen. Probably Dalton Adkins would do it in that situation. As far as depth goes there are around 65 on the roster so there is plenty of depth but mostly inexperienced.

I think Dalton will play in the Y spot. Jacob Gideon will be the other outside guy with Cam probably.

I will try to cover all that I can that has been mentioned. Lacks will play football should be healthy and released next week. Dalton Adkins will play WR and will be very good. Damon Black will be QB and will be fine. He can really sling it and he can run. Judd should be a star. I think people will be a little surprised that we lost all we did and will still be very talented. Over 60 kids on the roster so the numbers are still there and we will be just fine!

4 1A QB's made honorable mention but the 1A passing leader is not one of them. Seems about right. SMH

I absolutely agree that it's a great matchup and I expect to see a great game Friday. I honestly believe the winner of this game will probably win the state championship. Before I start getting bashed for saying that yes I realize that after this game there is a lot of work left to do. There are no more gimme games from here on out but I believe these are the two best teams in 1A.

He had one TD in regulation. I think if tell anyone right now he will have 1 TD in regulation that's pretty well containing him. He's a great player I'm not trying to downplay the kid. I said debatable who's better. Very easily it could be debated that Nathaniel Davidson is better. Two very different kids both very good at what they do. Again I am not trying to take away from Phelps he is an amazing talent. I too am looking forward to a good game Friday. I said earlier I don't know who will win but to act like Painesville has it in the bag already to me is foolishness.

I believe that this job will go to one of the guys that coached their freshman team this year. They all coached the 8th grade team at Ashland last year. Very good coaches. I don't know which one will apply for head coach but that's how I think it will go.

Kent Phelps will be the fastest player on the field friday night. Best is debatable. He didnt hurt us that bad in the first match. A couple of big runs. Two of Paintsville touchdowns were on busted coverage in the secondary. Contain Phelps as well as the first game and we win.

I clearly said that I didn't mean to take anything away from him. I watched his videos and I agree that he is amazing! Any team would love to have a back just like him. I was just pointing out that he has a very good line in front of him. You don't put up those numbers without a great line!

Not to take away from this kid but in his hudl videos his o-line looked like the stars to me. He had some gaping holes to run through.

I said in another thread that if Raceland plays like they did last night we would get beat badly. Having said that I don't see that Paintsville has suddenly gotten so much better and we've gotten so much worse. In fact the argument could easily be made that since the first meeting we have done far more to be prepared for this matchup. We have played Russell who is better than anyone on Paintsville schedule, BB is better than any team Paintsville has played since our game and Nicholas who is admittedly better than I gave them credit for. Like I said in another thread Nicholas has the best o-line we've seen all year including Ashland, Russell and Paintsville. In that same time period Paintsville has played 3 gimme games where they have been in cruise control. I think it will be a whale of a matchup this week I don't know who will win but I think you are sorely mistaken if you think the Rams will just come in and roll over for Paintsville like their last 3 opponents have.

This was a very chippy game right from the start. Even with the ejections I don't feel like the refs ever took control of the game. Honestly both teams were lucky to not have more ejections. That's not a knock on the kids from either side. The refs let way to much go on after the play all night. Nicholas in my opinion had the best o-line we have played all year. Very big across the board. We played sloppy and made some horrible mistakes and just didn't execute well. 0-8 extra points on the night. If we play like this next week we get beat by 3 scores.

I see it like this. Fairview handled Bracken fairly easily, Raceland handled Fairview fairly easily. I know they are different matchups and maybe kids were healthy and all that but I believe the gap between these two districts is a fairly wide one. Coach Salmons is making some personnel moves that I love that in my opinion are long overdue that make the Rams even better than we've seen all year. All these things combined lead me to believe this one goes smoothly some starters will get to rest in the second half and we handle business.

Got to meet Oldercoach at the game today. Very nice man I enjoyed talking to him. As for the game the Rams came out flat and took a while to get going. BB kids play hard stayed around in this game on sheer will for a long time.

Not so fast my friends! I want to start by saying that BB has made great strides and is well on there way to being a team that is mentioned in the top of 1A every year. I don't take anything away from what they have done with what I'm about to say. Its not as if Raceland has gone out and laid eggs the past couple of weeks. They played Paintsville 10-0 #1 1A team in the state down to the wire. They played Russell 9-1 very good 3A team that will have a good playoff run until they hit that dead end at Belfry and played them down to the wire. I agree with Ramcat that they should have won this game. BB is a good 1A team and should definitely not be overlooked however if Raceland shows up and plays they are not the same level of teams that the Rams have seen the past two weeks.

I agree that Ashland is better as most teams are. I disagree that Pikeville beats them. Pikeville started the season ranked number 1 because of what they did last year.

I fail to see how a win over Pikeville is considered more impressive than a win over a top 10 4A team like Ashland. Pikeville does not beat Ashland.

We never really seemed to be into it tonight. I am going to chalk it up to looking ahead to next week. Worst the O line has played all year hands down. We play like that next week and Paintsville goes home happy.

Very sloppy game! I think the Rams worst this year. O-line didn't play well and tons of stupid penalties.

I think they would both beat Valley this year. I doubt either beats PW. Our schedule this year is not what it was last year with the same teams on it. Nothing you can do about who is scheduled being down. I think the difference is we play two 1A teams in the regular season. Both district games. Paintsville plays six 1A teams regular season.
