Got to be a sweet W for Head Coach Woolf. Why wouldn’t Ryle have made Woolf their head coach years ago? Got to regret that now. Congrats to Coach Woolf and his Camels players!

Prediction that might surprise you: Lawson will win 2022 Miss Basketball. Only reason she’s not on this list so far is not a lot of people have seen her play. Yet.

Not super familiar with this age and the whole state, I haven’t seen all the girls listed in the first post. So my list is Northern Kentucky heavy. But of the girls I’ve seen here is my list in order of best first. 1. Madelyn Lawson, Dixie 2. Tyra Flowers, GRC 3. Lacey Bradshaw, NDA 4. Cassidy Rowe, Shelby 5. Austin Johnson, Ryle

This is your year for the GRC girls Goldie! I suspect they start the season in the top 5 in state. Good senior leadership, lots of talent, great run last year. The team to beat. Reminds me of a recent Lady Camels team

Lots of info in these posts! My observations are just a few random thoughts of my own. Didn’t think too deeply into it, just opinions. Apologize for hitting any nerves. First I wasn’t implying Scherr’s offers were just because of Premier. Bolus states “based on college potential” so something unusual was there. Just a random thought. I’m mostly confused by the second posts wording actually, but I meant nothing negative towards other programs. I think the Legacy program is one of the best and I’m not sure there’s any girls at all on Bolus list. I’ve certainly heard of Shelby Calhoun but never paid much attention to who she played for. Just noticed that several other girls from her team made the list. Should I have heard of Calhoun’s team somehow? I’ve never seen them listed in a state ranking or heard of them being a top team in Louisville or their region? I don’t even know what region they’re in? Let’s use the list for positive discussions about what good players or teams are out there that could be top players or teams. Or for discussions about what players should be higher in the ranks. Sorry again if I frustrated some

A few observations... GRC has three girls in top 50 and will be a top team in state. I haven’t heard of Louisville Christian Academy but with the #1 girl in the state and two others on the list they should be a top 10 team in state this year. Who you play AAU for must be a HUGE deal because the #3 girl who plays for Ky Premier has every big school offer there is while the #2 girl has some D2/NAIA offers? Maybe a low D1 offer? I’m unsure, but it’s not much. Have heard a bunch of negative about this year’s seniors and although the top three girls are juniors, there are 16 senior girls in the top 25. Maybe no big stars but a solid class? Two names that are missing from the top 50, possibly the top 25. Mya Meredith, Scott high school and Emma Taylor, Campbell County. Emma Taylor. Sophomore. Add her in with last year’s starters and CC will be good.

Mya Meredith. Related to Nelson Perrin I think. She will make Scott a tough team. I think #3 in the region is about right despite the transfer to Dixie

Campbell has a new transfer from Mason that tips the scales back to the Lady Camels IMO. Scott has decent youth that are going to have better than expected seasons. I don’t think Mason overcomes the loss of the transfer to beat Scott either. Just my opinion about Bracken. Even though Bracken lost to both last year I thought they were better last year and will continue to be. Montgomery Co loses Bromagen and I think it’s too big a loss for them to win again this year over Bracken. I picked Calvery last because I like the kids ... You might be right that Bourbon County comes in at 10, I don’t think they lost much by way of graduates. In retrospect they probably deserve to be in top 10

THIS!!!! She played for the right AAU team, she lead one of the top school teams in KY. She was the top player in one of the top regions in KY. She was top five in the state in multiple categories. How did she not make it?

Why do you say this? Who did not make the team that should have? Were they at the tryout?

Yes that is my only point. Really deep senior class around the state, seems like maybe a comparable senior would get the nod. Scherr is one of the best I’ve seen but I haven’t seen all the girls even on the list, or certainly around whole state. Certainly no questioning or taking away from the sophomore. Good for discussion is girls that could have made the list though like ones named so far. Gibson Clephane Schwarber Stapleton Souder Others?

Absolutely excellent argument that Mercer was top team and they finalized the deal with the Sweet Sixteen win. Campbell had their share of big wins vs top teams from outside KY as well but my point was CC could be argued the top team. Maybe Scherr is a reach given the depth of the senior class, seen her play several times, and she’s very very talented. But as we’ve mentioned there are some pretty solid proven seniors headed to D1 schools not on the list

2018 was an incredible class. I’m guessing in other years girls like Clephane, Stapleton and Schwarber would have made this list. Clephane was a beast this year. Schwarber was a leader for arguably the best team in the state. As mentioned already, Macie Gibson put up unbelievable numbers. Haven’t seen a few of the girls on the list play before so it’s hard to know. Lots of senior talent though, when did the last class this talented go through the state? The year Moss and Crittenden were around?

Congrats to all the girls! The list seems fairly accurate although some of the Camels young talent should have made the list somewhere. Especially freshman Mallory Holbrook, averages almost 9 ppg and is shooting 35% from 3pt. Her ability to take pressure off of Schwarber and Clos has been huge. IMO she is a better player than some of the honorable mention girls for sure.

Maybe KY will finally have some success in the KY-IN post season games?

First, no team that's 0-30 will win a championship. Has a .500 team ever even won? Second, rankings do matter in seeding for things like the LIT tourney. All ages, sports use them. Should the AP college poll and USA Today poll be thrown out? Waste of time? Third, it's about discussion, that's the whole point of this forum. So the more appropriate question is, Why are you on this forum if you don't want to discuss how the teams stack up vs each other?

I've coached some basketball, and IMO definitely outcoached. With an overall more athletic team Ryle could have done things defensively to better their chances (we won't say what those things are in case future coaches are reading!). I think very highly of our players but in the end they had two mid-high D1 players and Juliet McGregor who is essentially as good (better athletically). So in the end, they had the better players, they lost, we won, therefore outcoached. I know that's not always the case but IMO this time it was. Hats off to Coach Menefee

Solid win for CC. Coach Menefee is very good, outcoached Ryle. Until Ryle started trapping near the end they had no answer for CC's patience to get Clos, Schwarber or Holbrook a good look. Ryle was very athletic but Coach Menefee knew how to get the win despite that.
