I agree with Carson Palmer in that Roy and Washington were big time players. Nothing to be too embarrassed about in losing that one. I understand that Raceland's expectations are such that any loss is a surprise, though. No such surprise awaits this year. BITRC in this one...believe in the running clock.

Ashland has gotten better throughout the season. I realize their opponents have gotten worse, but I really think the Tomcats have improved at the same time. Numerous young players are getting valuable experience and proving to be pretty good. Big game for Ashland next week against Greenup.

Johnson Central should clearly have the state title in their sights. They have done nothing this year to make anyone think otherwise. Great team. Their game against Belfry should be a classic if both teams come to play. Greenup's big game is next week against Ashland where the winner gets a home playoff game.

This comes as a surprise. Boyd started the season so well. Now they won't even make the playoffs.

That is impressive. Clark was a great running back. Hopefully the Russell defense pitches another shutout in this one.

I would like to see Russell shut out their next 3 opponents. I think that goal would give them something to play for in otherwise non-competitive games.

Russell is much better than Mr. Know It All is giving them credit for. The Russell defense is very good. Unfortunately, for Russell, though, we will never know how well they stack up against Corbin, Central, and Lex Cath, because their playoff path leads to Belfry pretty quickly.

The new coach and Greenup's season would be a success at 6-4. If Greenup ends up 7-3 with a home playoff game, though, then that would be a major success and I would think it would help in getting the ball rolling to them becoming a program to be reckoned with in the future.

This was a good win for the Tomcats. They should be favored in their next 4 games, although the game at Greenup will be a test, before ending the season against Johnson Central and Tates Creek, 2 tough opponents. The future looks bright at Ashland. A lot of underclassmen are getting significant playing time and doing well. They have a chance to be really good in the coming years.

Russell is a really good team this year. They managed to make enough mistakes to keep their first 3 games close, but if they start utilizing those big receivers, Russell should roll through their district schedule and provide Raceland with a good test in the final game of the season.

Good win for Greenup County. It's good to see them becoming somewhat relevant again. I like their schedule, too. They should get a couple more confidence boosters to come into the stretch of games with Johnson Central, Ashland, and Boyd at 5-2.

Raceland is looking pretty good this season largely in part to top notch QB play. This could be the year you crazed Ram fans have been waiting for. I think Raceland has a legit chance at a state title this season. However, be cautious with the expectations and the building up of the team, though, because the schedule hasn't turned out to be as tough as it looked on paper. It's not Raceland's fault, because they tried to schedule difficult teams, but it just so happens that some of these teams are going through somewhat "down" years. Paintsville will be the next true test on October 21st. I hope the Rams stay healthy and maintain their edge until then.

I agree that East Carter should drop out of their district for a while. Ashland and Johnson Central are not the types of teams that a rebuilding program needs to play. Congrats to Fairview, though. This will be their last win until the last game of the season against Lewis. They enter a very difficult part of their schedule now.

There is a reason both teams have a high point total of 13 for a game this season. Bad offense. This was a big win, though, for Ashland to give them a shot at a decent season. In my opinion, a loss here would have cleared a lot of room for questions about the coaching and the handling of the QB situation. Russell will be fine going into district play because they play with a lot of effort.
