I hope the injured players (Braly,Adkins) for Boyd County are ok.

I was expecting a Russell victory, but I figured it would be somewhat closer.

Now that's more like it. There's still work to be done, but tonight was a step in the right direction offensively.

 

Smith threw the ball well tonight. 200+ yards and 3 TDs, including 2 to Landon Brewer. Smith added a receiving TD on a halfback pass from Conley.

 

The defense continued its outstanding play so far, logging the first shutout of the season. Adkins and Braly leaving with injuries in the 3rd quarter was a huge blow to Boyd's offense. Certainly wish them the best.

 

The 2nd team offense looked good on the last scoring drive for Russell. Maybe Cole Coburn will work his way into the backfield rotation going forward.

Russell is a really good team this year. They managed to make enough mistakes to keep their first 3 games close, but if they start utilizing those big receivers, Russell should roll through their district schedule and provide Raceland with a good test in the final game of the season.
