2018 bowl games you hope to attend
winterweather replied to newarkcatholicfan's topic in KY Football (High School)
Forcht Bank Bowl on 8/17 Ft Harrod Bowl on 8/18 Rebel Bowl on 8/25 -
What are their expectations? I saw them in 7v7 last weekend, had a nice q.b and some targets to throw to. Lineman were big and athletic winning the big man challenge
-
Boyle Co won the Central Hardin event. Was also impressed with North Hardin and Davies Co (didn’t see everyone). 2a Green County came out of nowhere to earn the #1 seed but fell to North Hardin in the second round.

Who exactly are Cal’s people? I could care less who uk gets but I would think a wise use of the last 2 scholarships who would be in state guys who can develop-@ least as long as the one and done is around. How often has uk used their full 13 scholarship allotment. I think this kid is showing he can play for anybody.

Big year for Coach Hunter Jackson and the Dragons as they look to improve upon their 5-6 record. This group of seniors is the first group at Green County since 2012 to have the same coach through their career. Nathan Ray figures to be one of the better linebackers in the area and steady as a hard running fullback as well. Dennis Rose is a hard nosed dual threat qb. Dragons will need some playmakers to step forward, senior Devonta Ford has shown flashes of brilliance in the past at tailback and is a force as an outside linebacker. Bobby Landis and Hunter Mccubbins also look to be two way standouts. Dragons face Washington Co, Berea, Caverna, Campbellsville, Taylor County, Hart County, and Knox Central in the non district. Glasgow is the district favorite but the. Dragons look to surpass Metcalfe Co and Monroe Co in district play having lost to those two in heartbreaking fashion last year.

Wyatt Battaile commits to Louisville

About a month ago I believe. Was he also a walk-on at Morehead? -
Coming off one of the best seasons in school history, they lose a lot but return sophomore to be starting QB Arren Hash. They lose 7 seniors off of a 24 man roster. Devonte Cubit was huge last year and will be sorely missed. Aside from Hash, the Eagles will build around Charlie Pettigrew, Tristan Johnson, Dakota Reardon, and Desean Vancleave. The Eagles will take some losses in the non district but are primed to once again win their district

Trinity's Jay Scrubb to Aspire Academy

You don’t think Scrubb can play at UofL's level? -
Coach Keith Young resigns/retires after 6 years at the helm. Green will have 5 Seniors next year and is in a win now mode.
-
Very fair assessment. They have some talent coming back including an incoming sophomore who led the team in rushing as a freshman. They have the big kid they play as a fullback, not sure I wouldn’t make him a left tackle and run behind him

Campbellsville-region champs last year-only dressed about 22 guys. Numbers are perpetually an issue

I like larue co to win it. They are peaking at the right time

Caverna 98 Green County 74
winterweather replied to ColonelPops's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Quite a performance. As good as I have seen in person. Green had won the first 2 meetings but had no chance in this one. -
Bardstown 66 Elizabethtown 58
winterweather replied to Jim Schue's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
This truly is a stunner. No offense to the lady tigers but they have more of a middle of a the pack 5th region team. To put it in perspective (and I bet there are other examples) Bardstown is probably ranked behind green co in the tankings (green won by 13 in their only meeting). Etown led green 36-2 at one point and ended up winning by 38. Wow. Congrats lady tigers. -
Did Barren County drop out of district play?

Did Barren County drop out of district play?
winterweather replied to gchs_uk9's topic in KY Football (High School)
They dropped Glasgow, why would they keep playing BG and S Warren. I have said it is the toughest job in the state given who they have to compete against -
The teams that do well in the All A are often contenders in their own region as well. I would project 5or 6 of the boys teams as being legit regional contenders. What I don’t like is that private schools are included in a small school state tournament.
