He meant that he didn't play at a Kentucky high school last year. That is all that matters for the transfer rule. The boy will be eligible.

Revolving door of players means instability. That makes it tough to rebuild a program. Expect them to finish just ahead of Dawson Springs this season.

I have no idea where he is from. I know he coached Hopkinsville girls in the late 90s or early 2000s. It was around the time when they had a revolving door for head coaches.

This exact same scenario played out in our district last year. Janiya Davis, now at Hopkinsville, was ruled ineligible but the ruling was overturned in January. She played for Christian County as an 8th grader and freshman, University Heights as a sophomore and Hopkinsville as a junior. No change of address in any of those transfers. What I was told is that they threatened with an attorney and all was overturned. I don't like this and thought Davis should have been ineligible last year after going to 3 schools in 3 years with no change of address. But if she is going to be allowed to do it then so should this girl. Enforce or do not enforce your laws equally KHSAA. We might as well not have a governing body!

Confirmed with a buddy from Madisonville. Hopkins Central is open. He said last he heard a hire would be made this week. He also heard former Hopkins Central coach Chad Burget is in the running.

Anyone predicting anything other than an all 8th district region championship game is delusional. I think it's much more challenging to predict who will be the other 2 teams in the region semi-finals. I can see anyone filling those 2 spots except for the bottom tier teams - Crittenden County, Livingston Central, Hopkins County Central, Dawson Springs, Union County. My advice is take teams 4-9, put them in a hat and draw out 2 names - there's your other 2 region semi-final teams.

1. Hoptown/UHA/Christian County 4. Everybody else

Not very good last year but bring back most of their team. I heard at work the other day that they are looking for a new coach again. Was the last coach fired or did he resign? With that coach carousel they have going I don't know how they plan to get back to respectibility.

Christian County will be big with Sebree and Ware both at 6'6 but neither one of them play like a 6'6 kid. Both play a lot of perimeter basketball. I don't think the height issue for Hoptown will become an issue until the state tournament. I want Christian County to win the region but I just can't see them being the same team without Edwards. He was a special player that carried them in big moments.

They will take the region back over this season. Too much talent for the other teams to overcome.

Everyone needs to just accept the fact that he only ranks who he has seen. I don't blame him for not putting kids he has not seen play on his list. Would you vouch for someone you didn't know for a job? Same story different chapter here. Before anyone responds that he should try to see everyone if he's going to do a list, I would be thankful that anyone does a list at all for Kentucky. Rick Bolus is not the only person to blame either. A lot of kids don't get exposure because they don't attend the right camps or don't play in the right exposure events. We also shouldn't be naive. This list is meant to promote his camp and give a reason for parents to want to send their kids there.

I can give you 4th but not 3rd and definitely not 3rd for sure. The 3 best teams in the region will all be from the 8th district. #1 Hoptown #2 UHA #3 Christian County

His age was never the issue with eligibility. His complete defiance of the KHSAA is. If I was a high school coach I would not want this kid on my team.

It was hard to read this post but if I read it correctly it sounds like you're validating what I stated so I'm not sure why you said "that's just not true". The 2nd region will always go through the 8th district regardless of rules enforcement. My point is that when the KHSAA looks the other way and allows the loading up at one school to happen no one else really has much of a chance.

Better enforcement would prevent one school from loading up like they have done in the past, most recently at Hopkinsville. When that happens they become practically unbeatable. This year just happens to be a weak year in the region where the Christian County teams are head and shoulders above everyone else. I don't think any of the 3 teams can make much of a run during the Sweet 16 this year. My point is if there was better enforcement, schools outside of Hopkinsville would actually have a chance and this is coming from a Christian County alum.

I really hope that whatever is going wrong at UK gets fixed soon. I hate seeing our best players go to Louisville. I have not seen this girl play in person but I have seen the high rankings on ESPN. UK is in survival mode now.

I've seen the official top 20 list somewhere before and no Kentucky school was listed. Wikipedia is not always a reliable source as anyone can post on there. I would go with the KHSAA number since that is what the school acutally submits.

I agree with the above. Losing the best player in the junior class hurt them but they still have a talented young group. I expect them to be more competitive this year and make more noise in the future.
