I admire your enthusiasm, and I always wish the Maroons the best. But the Second Region is tough, and it looks like Madisonville lost their top 4 scorers from last year's team. The top returning scorer averaged 4.4 ppg last year, I believe. Who do you see as players stepping in the upcoming year?

My guess is he's referring to the class of 2022.

I find it very hard for Madisonville to stay in the running in the 2nd Region in basketball unless Hoptown, Christian County, UHA, and Henderson lose a lot in the future.

As for football, Madisonville will have to contend with the likes of Hoptown, Franklin-Simpson, and Warren East in 4A football in Western Kentucky. However, Madisonville's cause will be helped with South Warren's move to 5A.

Madisonville north have a lot good young player coming up in football and basketball get ready Kentucky

Unless the KHSAA starts strictly enforcing transfer rules the 2nd region will continue to be the 8th district's to lose. There will always be boys loading up at either Christian County, Hoptown or UHA. Madisonville-North Hopkins may be become a bigger threat but not the favorite unless something changes with the KHSAA.

If they are freshman they are not winning anything this heat at the varsity level.

So...

This year UHA, hoptown and Christian county will be the three best teams in the region. How will transfer rules

Help?

Better enforcement would prevent one school from loading up like they have done in the past, most recently at Hopkinsville. When that happens they become practically unbeatable. This year just happens to be a weak year in the region where the Christian County teams are head and shoulders above everyone else. I don't think any of the 3 teams can make much of a run during the Sweet 16 this year. My point is if there was better enforcement, schools outside of Hopkinsville would actually have a chance and this is coming from a Christian County alum.

He says he watched them a lot and they kick everybody's butt in basketball and football. No clue who the Texans are but they must be good too. Lol

Maybe he thinks Madisonville has enough talent to beat the Houston Texans.

That's just not true. The region champ

Has come from 8th district 14 years in a row. A couple of years hoptown did load up on transfers but in one of the year's UHA likely wins the region if gray and Gary don't leave any in the other two hoptown likely wins. UHA,

They they play Up

To their potential could

Be very good. Best backcourt in the state in all likelyhood

It was hard to read this post but if I read it correctly it sounds like you're validating what I stated so I'm not sure why you said "that's just not true". The 2nd region will always go through the 8th district regardless of rules enforcement. My point is that when the KHSAA looks the other way and allows the loading up at one school to happen no one else really has much of a chance.

They guy is nuts Henderson has beat their jv team three years in a row. Henderson will be much better and should be for sure the 3rd best team in region. lol
