You need to adjust that top 4. UHA lost 2 of their top 3 returning players (one to Trigg and one to Christian County). Trigg County is 3rd best team in the region and Henderson 4th. I don't think UHA gets mentioned until you get to 6th best, maybe lower.

A lot of Hoptown homers will tell you that this team is supposed to be better than last year. I just find that hard to believe and I really think Christian County has better talent this year. That being said the region belongs to Hoptown until someone decides to take it from them.

Much of the same from them. They will win 10 or less and miss the region again after another coaching change.

Their top two options, Glover and Bartley, are possibly the best combination in the region. Unfortunately there is a big drop off after that. If those two are playing well they can beat anyone in the region. I just don't think they have enough support outside their top two to play as consistent as they need to make it to state.

As close to a rebuilding year as you can get at Henderson County. They will be a young team but very talented. They will still be a top 4 team in the region.

They lost a few starters to graduation and their best player, Keely Morrow, transferred to Bowling Green.

The revolving door of a roster keeps this program in rebuild mode. They will be at the bottom of the 2nd region again with Dawson Springs.

The word around the 3rd region is that Edmonson County has some very good young talent but the junior and senior classes are pretty thin. That, plus adjusting to a new coach, could mean that they will be a middle of the road team for one more year before becoming a contender next year.

If he does in fact live in Hoptown's district and he has been cleared by the KHSAA, I would love to hear the explanation why he was cleared and what the rationale was. I love watching the kid play and would like to see someone other than Hoptown win region but if the KHSAA said okay to this what is the point of transfer rules?

Homer alert! Homer alert! I'm on the Christian County to dethrone Hopkinsville bandwagon as much as anyone, but it's going to be a challenge just to get out of the region. Way too early for the state champion talk when this team hasn't been there since Anthony Hickey.

Not true but going to his camp definitely matters. Some of the girls listed weren't on his camp reports. I do see some that have no business on his rankings but get more credit than they deserve because they went to his camp. Breanna Glover is too low on this list. I think she is a top 3 player and obviously D1 coaches agree.

Henderson's sophomore good is really good. They'll reload this year and be a 2nd tier team but next year they'll be a legitimate threat again.

According to the KHSAA scoreboard they return everyone from last season but they will still be at the bottom of the region with Fort Campbell.

Getting back to the original topic, here's my top teams for the 2nd region - 1A. Hopkinsville 1B. Christian County 3. Trigg County 4. Henderson County 5. Madisonville-North Hopkins Webster County is a dark horse. Mason Rowland will be tough to replace but Newton does a great job of getting the most out of his teams.

Someone stepping up to help Hollowell was never the issue at UHA. He had an outstanding supporting cast last year. I don't mean to throw stones but it seems like the kid is difficult to play with and is more concerned with getting his shots.

I've been a bit out of touch with the boys side since my son graduated so that is news to me. All I can say is that is a shame.

They lost a solid player in Lewis, but return two very talented juniors in Crump and Fee. Crump is one heck of a little player and Fee has all the tools to be very, very good. I question Fee's desire to compete and unless he develops that killer instinct they'll win a maximum of 10 games.

From what I hear a lot of young talent but still a year or two away from being a contender.

1. Erin Boley 2. Everybody else

Not even up for discussion. If Etown doesn't win the 5th region it will be a bigger upset than their short state tournament run last season. Erin Boley is not just the best player in the state, she is one of the best players in the entire country. She still has a solid supporting cast. Even if you just surrounded her with an average supporting cast, they still run away with the 5th. Upsets happen but it is highly unlikely in this case.

Considering what they have coming back from the runner up team last year and the new transfer from Nashville I think they're the favorite to win state this year.
