If you want to see him play you may have to leave KY to see it. He's considering leaving Apollo to go to a prep school. It was on another thread where he stated it himself on video.

I think this is the year that Christian County moves back ahead of Hopkinsville. They had a talented and athletic young bunch last year. I heard some rumors that they added a key player from University Heights also. They are the 2nd region favorite in my opinion.

After losing their big kid who was a D1 recruit I don't expect Caldwell County to win more than 10 games this year. They still have some good role players left but not enough to make them a threat in the region.

Couldn't be more true. You pay out the rear for your kid to play with an "AAU" team with very little recruiting exposure. While the kids that are getting a ton of exposure play for free with big programs in the Nike or Adidas leagues because they get big sponsorship. That's why the AAU is nearly dead and is only a money making organization. They still get suckers who think the AAU is what it was 20 years ago. Cold hard truth - if your kid is good enough to play for EYBL program you better do it, if not you are better off paying for individual instruction with an expert than putting them on an "AAU" team. My kids weren't good enough to play for a big time program like the ones I mentioned earlier. I still let them play with their "AAU" team because they liked the kids they played with and just enjoyed playing. I understood and made sure they understood what it was. They weren't going to magically get college exposure because they were on an AAU roster. If something changes and they get a lot better then maybe they get that chance but as of now they are small school NAIA type players at best. I just wish others could take the AAU blinders off and see the big picture. The biggest injustice you can do for your kid is to give them unrealistic expectations. Don't beat your chest about being AAU State Champions or AAU National Champions and claim that you are the BEST or other programs are scared because they don't play there. Is LeBron James or Kevin Durant not the best because they play in the NBA instead of one of the European leagues? It's the same scenario. Everyone would laugh in the face of the best European league player if they claimed they were the best in the world because they were European league MVP. Wake up people!

As small as Fulton County is I don't know why they wouldn't want to do it. Small county with very small towns. It would have to be cheaper for transportation and staffing if nothing else.

They have a talented young group coming up. They won't make it out of district this year but the future looks bright. They were well coached last year by Brad Johnson and have a great young coach taking over in Piper Lindsey (hometown girl that lead Mason County to Diddle last year). Once Glover and Bartley leave Glasgow it will be Barren County's reign again.

Trainhard obviously has no idea what he is talking about. The "AAU" is nearly dead when it comes to exposure. The Nike EYBL, Adidas' league, etc. are where it's at when it comes to getting college exposure. My kids played AAU and I was amazed how parents just assumed that college coaches were there watching because it was an "AAU" tournament. You want exposure to go D1 you better get with a program that plays in CERTIFIED scouting/exposure events like Kentucky Premier, Kentucky Travelers, Kentucky Hoop Dreams, Tennessee Flight, WACG, etc.

Everything I have heard is that Stovall has already been moved up to head coach at Muhlenberg.

Although I'm just an observer from the bleachers that loves the game I have several friends that coach in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th regions. Everything I've heard from them is on par with what's been said here. #1 is things you don't have much control over - size, skills, potential. #2 is things you have a lot of control over - work ethic, team-first attitude, mental toughness. The key though is getting exposure whether it's through AAU, camps, showcases, etc. Everyone of my coach friends gave me the same advice when I put my kids in AAU - they need to play to get exposure but make sure they don't pick up any bad habits. The biggest downside to AAU is the free reign that kids get. It was sad to go to those games and see a lot of them turn into games you'd see at the park - all about breaking someone's ankles, lob dunks, and the other flashier plays. I remember one of my coach friends making the comment "EVERY coach that has recruited one of my players said the same thing about AAU. It's great because it allows us to see the best play the best during a time when we are able to watch in person. It's terrible because it's more about individually showcasing ability than playing together as a team to achieve a common goal. AAU games rarely puts players in situations like they see at the college level. When it comes to preparing them for the next level, high school basketball is most programs is better preparation. It's unfortunate that we (college coaches) don't get the chance to see many high school games in person to get a better evaluation of what kind of player that recruit is within a team that more closely compares to college."

Michael Bush shouldn't be on this list. You said validation beyond high school does matter so Bush essentially made this list based on 1 year at the position. I think Robinson from Lone Oak or Haddix from Breathitt are better choices. If you are only comparing careers at QB then Sindelar from Caldwell is more deserving than Bush. I'm a huge fan of Bush and I hope the best for him at the NFL level but he shouldn't be on this list.

It's another world in 4A compared to what they have been able to play in 3A. It will be a short postseason for South Warren.

Our boys played them last year and it wasn't pretty. One of the weakest football teams I have ever seen. I don't know if it was coaching, injuries, or they just can't get boys to play football there. I hate to see a program struggle like they have. A parent from there said that they are close to breaking the record for the longest losing streak in state history. I don't know if that's true but I hope they steal a win somewhere.

Average talent + head scratching head coach hire = losing season and early exit from the postseason.

Unless they self destruct I expect them to represent the 3rd region at Rupp. What happens from there is up to them. If they are the roller coaster that they were last season they won't last long at Rupp. If they put it altogether and become more consistent they may be one of teams playing on Sunday.

I think most of their talent were juniors last year. If that is the case I expect them to be the best team in the 4th region outside of the Bowling Green/Warren Central district.

The young talent we've heard about for so long are now upperclassmen so we will see just how good they are. I saw some potential there when I watched them but not as much potential as the locals pipe about. They'll fight it out for 2nd place with Edmonson County in the weakest district in the 3rd region. My prediction is 12-15 wins.

I'm just curious why he would leave Muhlenberg for this situation. Barring a major upset South Warren won't get out of the district in the foreseeable future and Muhlenberg plays in a 3 team district that favors them in most years. Did he get an administrative job? Was there a lot of pressure to force him to look for a way out at Muhlenberg? I'm familiar with both programs and to me Muhlenberg is the hands down better basketball program so it looks like a downward move to me. No disrespect intended for South Warren but that's just the way it looks to me.

A rebuilding year for the E-Gals in my opinion. They just lost the best player in the region from a team that was very up and down this year. They have some good young players but I expect 10 wins at most unless they have scheduled weaker teams.

That's the inequality of the Title IX "equality" movement. It only ensures that females get the same or more than boys. So no it is not a Title IX violation but it would be it were for boys only and the girls didn't have one.
