I have nothing but great things to say about the Cov Cath Program. My son has played plenty of games with and against those boys in both Football and Basketball. I was able to congratulate Mayer after the game, he was taking photos with probably, and I'm not lying, 6 girls, lol. He stepped away and shook my hand and appreciated my congrats. I met this young man and his father on the recruiting trail this past off season and they really couldn't be nicer. Another note, I showed up around 4:00 pm with a hand cart full of stadium chairs. The place was buzzing getting ready for the ground breaking ceremony. I asked if I could set up the chairs to save seats for the Ryle parents. They said, "absolutely, we don't blame you" They even offered to help. Left totally impressed, but obviously a little bummed with the outcome. Now just to deal with the boy's injury which has a very positive prognosis so far. Again, congrats to CCHS, I have no doubt they will be among those standing deep in the 5A playoffs.

They have Henry Clay, Boone, Highlands, then Dixie coming up. If they are taking on water fine, but I have faith that the studs wills step up with buckets and bail out the water so to speak. If seen these seniors have a huge impact on last season's team. They know how to win, yes a lot was lost, but I'm pretty sure they will bounce back.

Not making excuses for Ryle's performance, that's for the coaches and players. But realize that they have scrimmage and played 2 very very very good teams, super serious state championship contending teams in Trinity and Cov Cath. Homecoming will be another one in Indy Cathedral. Can't call call it a cupcake schedule. Injuries hit them hard early on in the Cov Cath game. 2 offensive starters wihin the 1st two series. Someone made a comment above about graduating 4 D1 players, yes at 4 key positions (2LB, 1OL and 1QB) So the inexperience will show early in the season against 2 big time contending teams. Put your panic buttons away please.......for now at least : )

Ahlfield looks good. I believe he was slated at DB and WR. I think he may see time at WR. Possibly DB to spell Rytlewski and Selby, 2 really really good DBs. Especially if they put these guys at WR as well. They should. They are both long, fast, strong and athletic.

Bisek moved to Center not because of a punishment to the starting center. Yes the NT was a beast. Ryle Line coach promised Bisek that he would get some Center reps simply because he is forecasted to play Guard or Center in College. Simply a pre-planned "yes you can get some Center reps"

Man, a bunch of BGP'ers. Sorry I didn't roam around to meet you'all. But I had to man the Ryle Twitter page. Plus I want to enjoy the boy's senior season, but I'm glad we played gracious hosts to you guys here in Union. I agree on all accounts of the game. One note, McDuffie is a stud (#38), he outplayd Herron who really didn't do much, not taking away from his talent. But McDuffie should be getting better looks than the FCS schools. Was really looking forward to my son going against Herron, really only got the chance in the 2nd Quarter. Trinity is the real deal. The QB is gonna be special. Enjoy the season all !!!

Ryle returns 4 starters on the OL from last season.

I'm partial, but Jake Chisholm (Ryle) is an absolute joy to watch. Huge stats, huge GPA, Huge ACT score. Super kid, Super Family. Not taking away from anyone else.

This was very disappointing. They could have just delayed the start by 60-90 minutes and the weather would have been perfect. Muddy for the lineman challange, but heck, that would have made it fun. The 7 v 7 would have gone off without a hitch. I'm sure the delay would have made for a long night traveling home, but it is summer. I was bummed about the decision.

Sorry, I won't be going to Dalton, my son is an OL so he won't have to go. But I will be sending out updates via Ryle's Twitter depending if can talk some of the parents on updating me. Feel free to follow Ryle's twitter @ryleraiderfball

Not sure what teams will be at Ryle's 7 v 7 tomorrow, but judging by the what my bride has to put together for volunteering, it should be a good showing. There will be a lineman competition as well. I think it goes from 4pm-8pm tomorrow 7/11

I was at a couple spring practices. I don't think he was able to participate in spring practices because I'm pretty sure he plays baseball. I do know that he will be able to compete for QB. Heck, When Tanner Morgan came back as a Junior, there was a competition for the job. So I will say yes, he will compete. I also heard that he may be trying WR or even DB too. Remains to be seen.

Some of the players told me that the new QB is coming along nicely. Throwing a very good ball and anticipating nicely. Not many QB's of Morgans quality, but he will do very well. Chisholm at RB and in the slot at WR from time to time. Thier D is bigger than last year. A ton of experience coming back at D backfield and LB. They will be bigger on the D Line than last year. Oline has 4 returning starters. The tough schedule will surely get them ready for playoffs.

Congrats to Will and his folks. Had the pleasure of meeting them on the trail this season. Great People !!!

Ryle players camping all over the country. U of L, UK, WKU, EKU, UC, OSU, Ohio, UC, Tennessee, Northwestern, Western MI, Central MI, Ferris State, Wofford, Harvard, Purdue, Grand Valley and even Northern Arizona. Still more to come. Didn't want make it sound like he can't play QB, just think he will compete wherever they put him. He will have an impact pretty quick.

I hope he is open minded about playing other than QB. Completely capable of being Woffords QB, but the kid is an athlete. He could have an impact all over the field.

Indy Cathedral at Ryle (Homecoming) Heard they have 6, D1 kids on defense alone. This is gonna be an interesting game. Head Coach: "how good are we?" Assistant Coaches: "we had a pretty good year last season" Head Coach: "Okay, I'll schedule a 6+ headed monster on Homecoming" Congrats to him for sticking his neck out : )

So happy for Zach. The kid has worked (continues to do so, I'm sure of it) so very hard and deserves what he has coming his way !! I love it when kids don't take anything for granted and work crazy hard to improve.

WV is gonna be pleased with the impact that Lay will give them next season. Not many work their craft like he does. Can knock it down from outside and a high percentage shooter. Not to mention his commitment to Defense too. I saw a video recently on Twitter of him knocking mid range jumpers with his left hand. Again, working his craft. If he can finish with his left like he does with his right, very formidible future. Heard he's getting some D3 looks and small school D1 looks. He has the all around game to play next level ball. Would be a crime if he wasn't utilized more next season.

I think you are being tough on them. I give them an A- simply because they didn't win state. That offense was a well oiled machine. Give them a B on Defense, but that O was unstoppable. The only reason they lost or was that the other teams that beat them were a bit better on Offense, could score more. You knew what they were gonna do and they did it. I'm a Ryle Guy and I can't even say that the loss to them hurt. It was a great game. Of Course a win would have been better, but they won the game. They ran and ran the Wing to perfection. When they had to throw, they did it great too. (4th and long for a TD in the corner) A-
