  1. That's My Fault. hahahaha. Jacques Hobbs. I had football on the brain. Got mixed up with Jacquizz Rodgers for some reason.
  2. It's tough when you bring in so much talent at once at the high school level. It's not like UK where the talent is gone after 1 year, and it's time to reload. They have to be there. With the emergence of younger talent, or a kid or two getting hyped or more pub/attention than another good player who feels they're deserving, it's tough on the high school level. Probably the play of Rogers and Cooper are why Washington and Wells left. Not certain. Just a thought or analysis. AAU teammates or not, when kids aren't getting looks and others around them start getting more "shine," you may see that. I'm interested to see if Fern Creek is going to be able to keep all of their Sophomore class happy the next year or two. They have their big 3 that everyone talks about, but they also have a few more kids in that class that can flat out play that isn't getting half of the attention, and could go somewhere else and be featured and still win. It's going to be interesting to see how both plays out. I'm wondering if Rogers will stay at Waggener after this season now that Cooper is gone, and all of the size will be lost to graduation after this season.
  3. I saw this on the news. what's the story on this game? Shocking result.
  4. Central had a starter that is ineligible this week (Devin Firman) due to illegal AAU play in a couple of games once school started. With that being said, St. X out executed Central. Didn't expect it to be that close. Central had 2 starters foul out, and top sub with 4 fouls. One other starter went out after a half with an injury for the rest of the game. Was really fortunate to escape with a win. Top player Thompson was limited to 9 points, because he only played about 10 mins. with foul trouble. Hats off to coach Klein. Does a remarkable job preparing his team. They are very big though this year at X.
  5. Louisville Central Out of Region Schedule: @ Covington Catholic Taylor County twice (KOB 1st round and @ clem haskins classic) @ East Chicago Central, IN - top 10 team IN @ Gary Roosevelt, IN - top 25 team IN @ Fairdale Dunbar in Lexington for Jock Sutherland @ Doss @ Fern Creek Butler You add that with the 7th region gauntlet (trinity, st. x, male, ballard, waggener, eastern, etc.). One of toughest schedules in the state by far. Scrimmaged Hop-town and lafayette. Will have played the majority of teams in the top 15 in ky by tournament time
  6. They're the most talented. Talent doesn't necessarily dictacte the best team though.
  7. I like the list for the most part. Though I have a couple of teams that I would've maybe switched around (Owen County in front of Ballard and Trinity, and Bullitt East and Cov. Cath towards the end of the top 10 and Hoptown a little higher), but ultimately I believe that the BGP rankings are much closer to reality to than the coaches ranking. Many coaches around the state aren't going to the KOB, LIT, Lexington Christmas tourney, etc. if they aren't in it themselves and are not relatively close to those sites geographically. Only 16 teams in the state can make it to Rupp. So for instance, there are probably plenty of coaches voting in Eastern, Western, or Northern KY that may vote Ballard high because they figure Ballard is always good. Or at one point last year, the 7th region had 4 teams in the top 10 (Trinity, Ballard, Manual, Central), but most only got to see Ballard because only one can make it to state. I think because more BGPrs actually have seen these teams live, they have a much better perspective than any other rankings in my opinion.
  8. Looked like Central was up 2 after 3 quarters, but it a was even game never-the-less. Did you see the first game? I was asking about the couple of games I missed. I saw those two. Thanks though.
  9. Hahahaha. Understood. That's what everyone around Louisville, and teammates at Taylor County call him.
  10. He's referring to David Sloan of Taylor County.
  11. I think he has a D1 ball game. Just lacks size. Wouldn't surprise me if a small d1 took a shot on him.
  12. Dai'Von Thompson was only jr or lower to be selected 1st team all 7th region last season, and not on top 25 and two others from his region are?
  13. Valley will be competitive in the 6th this year. Mark it down. Will surprise a bunch of people this season.
  14. I do know that owen co travels extremely well! They made their scrimmage feel like a regional final. Had more owen co fans than dunbar, and dunbar was the home team.
  15. I didn't see lawrence co play last year, so i really wouldn't know who was missing to be honest.
  16. Does anyone know who won those other two games?
  17. Watched 3 games at Dunbar today. Bryan station beat lawrence co. Left to eat and missed henry clay vs owensboro. Also missed 1st game between tates creek and Franklin co. Central won a close one vs lafayette. Dunbar squeaked by owen co by 3.
  18. Trey Ivory from Trinity at Austin Peay Christian Thieneman from Trinity at Marshall
  19. Robert Shaw from St. X is at Kentucky State. Stuart Jackson from Central is at Vincennes. Brandon Johnson from Central is at St. Catharine. Whatever happened to Brandon Trotter from Seneca? High flying 6'6"/7" forward from a couple of years ago?
  20. Yes they should be really good this year. My pick for the 7th. Have 2 of the top 5 seniors in Louisville in Dai'Von Thompson and Brandon Wells (with 5 other solid seniors), and 2 of the top 5 juniors in Louisville with Devin Firman and O'Neal Swint (didn't play last year, but 6'5" swingman that will cause trouble this season), and a solid junior class around them as well. I watched them in summer league this year against Bullitt East. Thompson was out, and Swint had about 25 and 9, and 3 huge dunks in a win. Their potential is very high this season.
  21. 1. Bowling Green 2. Hopkinsville 3. Taylor County 4. Covington Catholic 5. Central 6. Bullitt East 7. Dunbar 8. Christian County 9. Mercer County 10. Ballard
  22. How did the Louisville teams look? Butler was young last year. Did they look any better under Coach Goodin? The how did the doss/dunbar and central/hoptown games look?
  23. At Taylor County November 14: 2:15 Butler vs Marion Co 3:30 Eastern vs Dunbar 4:45 Owen Co vs Casey Co 6:00 Hopkinsville vs Central 7:00 North Laurel vs Franklin Simpson 8:15 Taylor Co vs Fern Creek
  24. With Cooper gone, does anyone know what kind of depth Waggener will now have?
