I attended the last two games of this today and saw Franklin Simpson vs North Laurel, and Taylor Co. vs Eastern. I came away impressed with Franklin Simpson who won all but 3 quarters led by Star player Tavin Lovan, Taylor County also came away with a victory despite being down at halftime. Just wanted to know if anyone who attended this event today had any thoughts on those games or any of the other games?

Doss looked better than Dunbar. Doss will flat out "D"you up. Central looked good and probably are missing a few players for football. Hoptown will struggle this year, didn't look very good.

I get tickled at NUR most valuable player choices. They should just go ahead and name the ones that everyone expects to get them before the games. I would have chosen different MVP's in couple games, but that's not what looks the best. Ha!

Hoptown was missing four starters, three of which are high major D1 and one mid major basketball player. They basically had the Jv team out there by the way they won one quarter. The one starter that played had 18, after been shredded in football game the night before. They also beat Louisville Central this summer by 18 with both of them having all their players. They are most assuredly top five in state beating Apollo by 37 in the summer with Elli Wright (Up for Mr. Basketball Kentucky), Ben Moss and Trey, which help lead them to decide transfer to a prep school, all three were top five in their class in Kentucky. Hoptown has four top three top 20 players in their perspective classes and two top five only in Kentucky.

I agree that Hopkinsville is a very good team. They should be considered top 10, possibly even top five in the state right now. But I don't know about the statement that they have multiple high major Division I players on their team. There are barely 4 high major basketball players in the state of Kentucky; let alone on one team.

For Hoptown, Johnson is probably the only high D1 player being currently recruited. There are many being looked at by some D1 schools, but they are in the lower tiers.

Completely agree with you. They'll be good. And they have some prospects on the team. But someone is a little too big of a fan of they think there are 4 high major kids there. Most prep schools don't have 4 high major kids on their roster.

Well you would be right. The question was how they looked at Taylor Co. They looked like a middle school team....sorry! I don't follow Hoptown and they may be good, just not a team I worry about because they don't play in our region. Good luck though..
