I wasn't going to post it but when I saw it I said yeah, this needs to be archived. :lol2:

Eastern will be much improved. Male may not be worthy of being #3. Seneca will not be better than St.X. Central will be really good. Waggener has much to prove. Is there a region with a better set of coaches?

These rankings are laughable. I dont know which scenario is more riduculous. Waggener winning the region and Male finishing third or the fact that Trinity and Ballard aren't 1 and 2. I say that even with a true dislike for both Trinity and Ballard. Better coaches would have done more with the talent Ballard and Trinity has had over the last decade. With that said they will still be the 2 best teams in the 7th by the end of the season. Unless Male found some guards to get the ball to Cook and Brownley they will be the same very average team. Waggener will have to win something before I declare them the best team. Best talent does does not always equal best team. I also dont see any difference in Eastern at 4, Manual at 9 and X at 10. Seneca and KCD ahead of St. X and Manual. Give me a break.

Let's try:

1. Trinity(if referees let them play, this years teams is nasty/PRP old school defense if u know what I mean)

2. Ballard(if referees dont let Trinity play put Ballard at 1)

3. Central

4. Waggener

5. Eastern

5. St. X

5. Manual

5. Male

9. KCD

10. Seneca

It's almost like these rankings were done based on Twitter mentions. Yes, Waggener is definitely the most talented team in the region, on paper. But to this point, they've failed to be competitive. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the 6th and 7th both finish this year.

Based on the lack of any type of returning production, I would think Trinity would see a noticeable drop off from the past few seasons. They have a very good coach, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them have a solid season, but what am I missing that would make them the top team in the region?

Its going to be another fun year in the 7th region. I will be interested in seeing whether KCD in fact is better than teams like Trinity, Manual and St. X. KCD has a couple quality players in Anthony Mathis and Colin Ferguson, and I think a younger Mathis will be playing, but I don't know who they may have to replace what Malyiek McCray gave them.

Trinity and Ballard both lost a ton of talent...but with that being said both have excellent coaches. Say what you will- both teams get after it on defense and that can be attributed to both coaches philosophies. Coach Bibby at Central can flat out coach too...Talent points to Waggener. Can talent trump coaching? Its possible when your bigs are 6-5, 6-8 and 6-6.

On paper, you're completely correct. But I'll go on record and say, barring injury, this is the best Trinity team since the one that won state. They're very balanced. And they play great D.

I've heard similar thoughts from other Trinity people. How will Trinity be height-wise? Any transfers or other new additions?

Trinity is a system team. Systems don't graduate. They'll continue to guard the heck out of people and grind out wins in the 45-40 range. The last couple years Trinity has reminded me of Virginia in the NCAA. Just guard and grind out wins.

They don't have any great height. But they'll be tough. You can bet it'll be hard to get position on the block, and hard for point guards to penetrate the lane. I doubt anyone will have a strength advantage on them.

Ballard will have a strength advantage over most 7th region teams. Their bigs are suiting up in pads tonight.

It is a shame that they cannot take the time to get the simple things right Dunlap is not even in the state anymore and hasn’t been for a while. Last year they didn’t even have some of the coaches correct who had been coaching new teams all summer. Why don’t they just ask someone who cares to write it, I'm sure it would not be hard to find.

I think the top 6 in this region will battle all year. and would not surprise me if any of them won it.
