Just because Trinity lost to Male? Trinity and Male are on another level than anyone else in state right now.

Heard Shelby had several long TDs called back or this one could've been even worse.

According to KDE state report cards Bullitt East 13-14 enrollment was 1390. Spencer County was 782. So how does Bullitt East not have enough healthy bodies to throw out there when Spencer County's enrollment is about half of Bullitt East's? Spencer didn't seem to have any trouble competing last week. (Or before Nathaniel Bryan fact checks me, Spencer County has 56% of the enrollment of Bullitt East)

So kids who would start chose not to play. QB who was hurt but has been cleared also chose not to play. Not a good sign if you ask me. And I went to the Eastern game and watched the Kessler kid get sacked and hit all over the place. I think the scheme, or lack thereof, in pass protection probably contributed to him not playing the last couple weeks.

I was estimating, sorry if I said 1500 instead of 1412 or whatever the number is, I think the point was made. With the latest realignment Bullitt East is the 6th largest school in 5A (from the KHSAA 2015-18 realignment numbers), I don't think they have a legitimate excuse to cry about depth, the kids are in the building. And seriously, you're going to criticize what I said by quoting numbers from wikipedia to me? I thought in the year 2015 everyone realized wikipedia can be edited by anyone and is not a reputable source . . .

There are plenty of teams that run option that dont have to go through 5 QBs in 2 years. Either something in their preparation in offseason or scheme is leading to this many injuries, and that would be the responsibility of who? Again, school of 1500, surely you can find someone and develop them. Polson kid got injured last year but last I heard was cleared and chose not to play, wonder why? Good coaches own up and take responsibilty. So scheme causing QBs to get knocked out left and right, or choosing to start a freshmen on oline last year and blaming inexperience, I find that very hypocritical of coaches.

Injuries were the excuse last year too. Job of coaching staff in school with 1500 kids to recruit in your building and develop some talent. Cant blame 0-4 start to injury by QB who didnt even play last year. Thats poor leadership by staff. South and Bullitt Central look best right now. East, North and Nelson battling for last two playoff spots. This week vs Shelby could get ugly.

With John Hardin dropping to 4A, no one in that region really stands out, so Fern Creek could put together a nice run.

I'll take defense and the better running game. Spencer by two scores.

I would pick BE to beat Oldham County down the road, about the only win I see right now on their schedule.

And I cant imagine their style attracts some of the better athletes in the school to come out and play football.

Veer isnt necessarily the problem. Urban Meyer and Gus Malzhan run a hybrid of wing t and veer principles in their offenses. East Ive seen over years is two TE two RB with no triple to their option, no counters and no play action passing. So when they face a good team in playoffs they struggle badly.

And North and Central both starting 3-0 adds some extra pressure.

I think the question is more about the culture around the program than wins and losses. There are experienced coaches in the school that want no part of that program right now. So much so that in the last couples of seasons they have paid coaching positions go an entire season vacant. Theyve done a good job at lower levels but seems like they have lots of attrition and arent keeping kids in program or developing them for 4 years. Going through QBs is a risk you take when running option. Game I saw against Collins they looked inept at all aspects of game.

Sullivan didnt throw a TD, was SR transfer Jake Walker. Sullivan cant throw, on account of the Tommy John and all. Did run ball hard and had a TD reception.

Many who have achieved a lot more with a lot less talent for sure.

And the quality of opponents hasnt exactly been overwhelming. Lost to North Bullitt that won 1 game a year ago. Beat West Jessamine who is giving up nearly 50 pts a game. Getting beat by a usually solid Franklin. Sounds like Woodford has tools in place but new HC seems to be ill equipped to take advantage of that.

Shouldnt amaze anyone. I thought a lot of people on here expressed exactly what woodford was getting into when hire was made.
