  1. Coopers qb was much better than Ryles qb the night they played, outright! Brown lit it up in the air and on the ground, to me there was no comparison! Ryle's qb was exposed by Cooper no doubt. I too thought Ryle had too many good players to contest with however Cooper does too! I'm starting to believe there is just too much hype going on in Union on the raiders side!! SK will expose the raiders as well, hate to say it, but got to give credit where credit is due!!
  2. I believe the best back Ryle has is the Chisholm kid, he's a true rb and knows how to run. With that said though, I don't know if Ryle's backs will be the only answer and I agree with doubleduece "If Ryle depends on their QB running the ball....blow out! Ryle's qb is a pocket passer period, if he can hook up with the wr then it will be a close game. However SK defense scares me and I don't think they will allow Ryle to run or throw in this game. I believe Ryle will get exposed unfortunately. If SK win against Cooper is any indication, not sure Ryle can take down the Neers, with that said, two words-Dillion Powell. 35-14 SK
  3. Not impressed with either team this year. Whoever beats themselves the worst will push the other one to a very close win!
  4. Have to say after watching the game I was impressed by Cooper. Seemed like a tight game but looking back, Cooper had Ryle's number Friday night. I was confused by who the D1 qb was, Brown was impressive, more so than Ryle's qb. I believed Ryle was more athletic but I did not see that in person. The go to players were non existent, I noticed Ryle's qb wouldn't take a hit to get his team a first down, the defense I think made him vulnerable and where were all the athletes, on the sidelines? Have to give this one to Cooper's coaching staff, I believe that was where the real victory lies! So I'm eating crow, thought Ryle was a much better team however after seeing Cooper I'm not so sure, the raiders were just too predictable! Hope they change a few things before they meet the monsters in Independence in two weeks, or the fright of Halloween will come a week early for the raiders!!
  5. I believe this to be true only on the second Tuesday of the week
  6. I think by now both teams are aware of who to key in on. These players are not new to each other at all. The interesting thing about this game is again, most of these kids grew up together, played with or against each other and at the end of the night there will still be respect paid on both sides! ( Hopefully in the bleachers as well) :whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling:
  7. I say after the game Friday night, someone start a thread called "Crow" and let the fun begin:dancingpa:banana::ylsuper: Till then........
  8. I'm quite surprised Cooper chose to get it done in the air last week, but they did and it worked. Ryle did it on the ground, not sure if the coach underestimated his qb in that weather however, it shows me Cooper will give Ryle a good game! Most of these kids on both teams are skilled and have been playing with/or against each other growing up...tons of talent on both sides! It will be a Union backyard rumble for sure!! Best of luck to both teams!! Friday night lights at its finest:popcorn:
  9. A lot of beef on both sides, it's going to come down to the running game and who has the strongest line!
  10. Boone County High School is landlocked, no real estate for growth. Numbers will not go up unfortunately. The football program has been in a downward direction for many years. However, why is it just football in this case, other sports in the school don't seem to be affected by it? They have been very successful in the district in basketball, soccer, baseball...why is it just with the football program?
  11. Good to hear Powell is living up to the hype. Being a senior, this is the way to go out for sure! Keep grinding Mr. Powell, you're having a stellar year!
  12. Have to agree with this one:clap: Just wondering if this Morgan kid knows how lucky HE IS to have walked into a talent pool of exceptional players that make him look good too! :ylsuper: I'm sure his dad would have never let him play for a mediocre team!
  13. Was it the O'Hara kid that threw the long bomb down field last week on CC? And one into the endzone? I follow many games on twitter and Ryle's twitter spoke highly of him. I believe he also had a td if I'm not mistaken, sounds like an all around natural. Ryle is loaded and good for them!
  14. Agree with you, but who's talking about 8 years ago. Just give credit where credit is due now, Marksberry has not one piece or two, but all the tools to make a good run!
  15. No, it's not the same team! I am being told they played many seniors last year, Englers first year, so it was hard to go by. Kids this year making a difference that did not get to play last year are High, Chisholm, McGregor, Ashley, O'Hara, Molique, Scherr, Long, Pogliano, Sandmann, and a few others. So no, last years sophomore class were taken a backseat to the seniors, as high school sports sometimes goes.
  16. That is ludicrous! So much for football being a team sport! Morgan is a great addition however the talent level is the main reason this team is 5-0! You have rb's making huge runs, lb's killing it, db's making monster tackles and hits, true grit athletes so talented to play both sides and a freshman kicker, by the time he's a senior, putting #'s in Ryle's history book! Oh, and a coaching staff to boot! Coach Engler would never say such a thing! You have to have all the pieces to the puzzle to be 5-0, and he does to make his run! SK has it too, Marksberry never speaks of his qb or rb in a singular sense, wise and successful coaches need all the pieces to be successful!
