  2. Good luck Coach. Gonna miss seeing you on our sideline.
  3. Kid I posted about broke his state squat record at Boyd County weight meet. Should be able to verify that as well.
  4. Not doubting that a bit. I agree with you. I think he could even play DL for Morehead. If he got a spot on their team he would automatically be one of the 5 strongest guys on the team. Only reason I say that is because I'm around the MSU football team a lot.
  5. His biggest knock as far as college football goes is his size (5'9" 245 lbs) and what position he would play at the next level. Would make for an excellent blocking fullback but with so many schools moving away from traditional offenses and using more of the spread attack, it's becoming harder and harder for him to find the right fit.
  6. You're right. Not sure you can link instagram videos on here but he has a video of him getting 405 at the weight meet rather easily. Said he tried 465 after that but couldn't get it locked. Also has a video of him pushing up 460 in the school weight room.
  7. I know Bracken sturggled mightily last season. What do they return?
  8. He has had is bench press and squat validated at the Racleand weight meet. While I don't think he reached 480 on the bench at the meet, I'm pretty positive he pressed over 400 and recently broke his own state squat record for his weight class of 575 when he got 585 last week.
  9. They could play the girls games in Wetherby like they used to do anyway.
  10. I hate that Lewis and Mason will no longer play. The Lions would have fit well where North Laurel or West Union, OH are.
  11. I would think Coach Fite would also be tickled with this draw! I've got the Lady Lions in the region final too but it's the girls in blue not red. :ylsuper:
  12. Lewis County was there but only brought 2 lifters. Still placed 7th out of 14 schools. Dalton Stamm won the 245 lb weight class and the overall heavy lifter award.
  13. Sounds like this was a dandy. My Lions will be back stronger next year, as they only lose two key contributors from this year's team.
  14. Lewis lost around 8 seniors from last year's team and returned two players with significant varsity experience. Them competing the way they have and even defeating the regions top team in Boyd County gives Coach Hampton a pretty good argument in my opinion. Elliott, Rowan, and Boyd were expected to be the top 3 before the season began.
  15. Should be a great game! I'll take my Lions at home in this one. Some magic happened the last time the Lions hosted the 63rd District Tournament when medical redshirt senior Terrence Smith went for a career high 35 in his final game on his home floor, leading the Lions passed Russell to claim the district. This Lions team, though inexperienced can do the same thing and win the tournament if they buy in to Coach Hampton's gameplan.
  16. Kash is an exceptional athlete at Painstville and I expect him to have a huge season next year for the Tigers. Looking at his numbers, he has more athleticism than I even thought. A 36" vertical is ridiculous. I do wonder though about his muscular endurance? Says he only got 185 for 20 at the combine but has maxed at over 335? When I played I never maxed out over 285 but could rep 185 almost 30 times. Having muscles that are conditioned over a long period of time will help you out more in football than one burst of brute strength. Nevertheless, a very impressive athlete who will have a very impressive career when it's all said and done.
  17. What advantage does being 15 in the 8th grade give him when he's playing against 17, 18, and 19 year olds on the varsity level?
  18. Didn't see the more recent posts on his age... I thought 16 sounded a bit much.
  19. If he's really a 16 year old 8th grader it'll haunt him later when he's ineligible to play sports his senior year.
  20. I agree. It's about time to stop playing that card.
  21. As for the game, I think Mason wins by 13.
  22. Can't really go by comparing scores. Rowan was up 20 at halftime over Lewis. Lewis beat Boyd by 8. Boyd beat Rowan by 3.
