  1. Congrats Raiders, Lions still have some work to do.
  2. I don't think a lot of teams have their schedules finalized yet. And a lot that do, don't have it posted online anywhere.
  3. What about the incorrectly called 2-pointer in OT of the 2011 Basketball State Championship? DJ Townsend of Rowan made a 3 with his foot on the college 3-point line with about 10 sec left in OT. It was called a 2 point shot and put Rowan down 3 instead of 2. Christian County followed by missing the front end of a one and one. Rowan rebounded and Darrell Cross made a 3 at the buzzer to send it into double overtime, would have been the game winner of the correct call was made. Anyone remember this? Anyone know if any sanctions were handed out?
  4. That is probably true. Hampton has been known for scheduling tough teams early in the Lions schedule and he has been the head man for about 15 seasons now.
  5. Lewis County senior Tyler Mustard had, I believe, 5 INTs on the season to go along with 3 fumble recoveries, one of which was returned for a TD. He had 3 INTs in the Lions last game of the season against Magoffin County and dropped another right before the first half ended. He also had 3 rushing TDs in that game.
  6. Lewis County renewing their long time series with Fairview is interesting to say the least. The series was discontinued after the 2010 game when a Lewis County Board of Education staff member got into a verbal altercation with one of Fairview's then-assistant coaches. There was also an incident in the 2012-2013 sports season at a girls volleyball or basketball game (can't remember which) where a Fairview parent verbally attacked a Lewis County student. Should be an interesting series of events.
  7. Gage Hughes from Greenup County is a dynamic player who started for GCHS last year as an 8th grader. He actually broke OJ Mayo's record for most points scored in a 16th regional tournament game by an 8th grader last season.
  8. How's the line play?
  9. He sure was an unstoppable force.
  10. Insane numbers from the Fullback position.
  11. Wouldn't say obvious! Mr. Horton may have something to say about that! A dominating physical effort from Belfry. Turnovers and penalties kept it from being a blowout.
  12. Central's QB showing that he's just a sophomore on that last drive.
  13. Belfry 14 Central 7 Central with 4th and 17. 4:35 left.
  14. Any chance they throw an option pass here on 3rd and 12?
  15. Wasn't saying they were an inept team, just don't understand not throwing the play action pass at all with this defense the Jackets are running.
  16. Central is basically playing with a 7 man front, is Belfry that inept at throwing the ball that they can't fake it to Hatfield and dump it off to the TE behind the linebackers?
  17. Is Belfry trying to lose this game? They've had so many opportunities to pull away and put the ball on the gound.
  18. Lewis County played this one without starting point guard Jake Parker who suffered an injury during the second quarter of Tuesday's win over Ashland.
  19. Lewis County (55) — Davis 10, Duncan 7, Walker 19, Lemaster 1, Kelly 3, McCann 2, Kiebler 13, Parks, Wallingford. 3-Pt. FG: 2 (Davis, Walker). FT: 13-25. Fouls: 24. Fairview (52) — Washington 13, Smith 10, Roy 5, Delong 6, Romine 5, Monroe 3, Adams 8, Ruggles 2, McIntyre. 3-Pt. FG: 6 (Washington 2, Smith 2, Delong 2). FT: 16-37. Fouls: 24.
  20. LC is going to have to get more than 5 combined points out of Fite and Thompson of they want to accomplish their goal of winning the region.
