The 2014 chapter in the unending story of KY High School Football has concluded following yet another successful season. 6 teams now stand firmly atop the platform of their respective classes, displaying rewards from the hours of hard work put in during the offseason. Soon the chalk will be flying in weight rooms across the state, cast iron records will fall to new faces, stadium stairs will emit the sounds of a small army marching and the screams of agony will echo from Pikeville to Paducah as the players push themselves to the limit with hopes to attain what every player that has ever laced them up dreams. With that being said and as the calendar begins to inch closer to the 2015 regular season, what are some of the notable games each school has this coming season?

BELFRY:

vs. Johnson Central- JC has owned Belfry as of late and will be one of the Top 5 teams in 4A

 

vs. Knoxville Catholic, TN- Powerhouse team. Had the misfortune of having to play Fulton early in the playoffs, but was probably one of the Top 25 overall teams in TN and one of the Top 3 teams in 4A.

Lewis County renewing their long time series with Fairview is interesting to say the least. The series was discontinued after the 2010 game when a Lewis County Board of Education staff member got into a verbal altercation with one of Fairview's then-assistant coaches. There was also an incident in the 2012-2013 sports season at a girls volleyball or basketball game (can't remember which) where a Fairview parent verbally attacked a Lewis County student. Should be an interesting series of events.

Cooper returns almost every starter on their squad from this year's State-Semi team and open up with Highlands next year. Hopefully it will be a very good game!

Trinity will play Ensworth and Brentwood from TN to open the season

I do believe Pendleton has NewCath on the schedule in 2015.

If that guy on vacation comes back, the SK -vs- Highlands thread may set some BGP records.

John Hardin plays South Warren early in the year I believe. The Etown paper had next years opponents listed, but it did not list specific weeks. I know district games are normally late in the season.

This was the game I was thinking of also. Being the first game of the year it should be interesting to see how both teams fair as they both move up to a higher class.

 

The winner of that game should give us a big insight into how the rest of the season will go. Being so early in the season makes it even more intriguing.

An excellent game to see how the West in 4A potentially could shake out. Collins should be back in the running as well.

Who is the team that Pulaski got to play in their bowl game week 0? Also, was the Bowling Green game a 1 year deal? If they go to Bowling Green and play these two teams, that is a heck of a schedule to prepare for the playoffs.

Highlands vs. Scott Co. and Highlands vs. Louisville St. X. I think their schedule outside of districts is all 6A.

I believe BG was a one year contract. Not sure about the week 0 bowl game either, sorry not much help.
