The Paducah area has always had very good baseball programs from little league to high school to legion ball, I'm picking McCracken in a close on. I know St X is also very good.

Congrats to Scott County, Caldwell had plenty of men on but just couldn't move them around, you can't walk batters in extra innings.

They have one common opponent, East Jessamine, Scott Co. beat them 6 to 0 and Caldwell beat them 15 to 5. I'm going with Caldwell County, their region has plenty of firepower and they have an excellent pitching staff.

GloryDays, Your different stratosphere comment is kind of funny, if you've ever played sports you know one game in the middle of the season doesn't mean anything, you can't go by that. It's the post season now and things are tougher, Caldwell's schedule is no slouch and they beat a couple of teams that beat Henderson. Caldwell County has a lot of good pitching and 4 or 5 of them are lefty's which are very effective in high school simply because you don't see that many. Bigger schools aren't always better just because the schedule may or may not be better, anytime you have good pitching you are a threat.

They have been 18 times, the two times you mentioned aside from the championship are considered early exits and I don't know but it seems like they always get beat way before they should considering the talent they have.

Again Christian County one of the most talent laden schools in the state, chokes at the state tournament, I guess their dominance of the second region is misleading. They go the whole year without losing to a Kentucky team and can't beat a team that lost several games, although that team is very good, congratulations to the boys from eastern Kentucky for exposing the team from Hopkinsville as pretenders.

They need some offensive linemen to blossom this spring and some depth at that position would be nice, also another receiver needs to step up, as for defense they should be pretty tough losing only 3 or 4 starters. They are young and talented.

Newport Central Catholic's road comes to an end and they know it, just have to go out and play the game, because this Mayfield team is a team of destiny, Mayfield schedule has them ready for this kind of game and NewCath hasn't seen the kind of competition Mayfield has, Mayfield wins.

I would just hope for the best against Catholic after the way E towns prayer was answered, they were very lucky to advance.

Nice bulletin board material, I'm sure it's already up in the Tiger locker room, Caldwell's Quarterback is only a sophomore who has really come on this season, as far as being twice thew athlete, you are comparing a senior to a sophmore. One thing you need to know is Burns is an outstanding pitcher on the Tiger baseball now. PT has been great one game, then bad the next at times this year, the question is which one did Elizabethtown see, also they have a tendency to quit when they get down sometime, so we will see what that 100 mile bus ride to Princeton is like for E town, Caldwell County has played some tough teams this year and could easily be 12 and 0, The Tigers will be ready.

I don't know much about Hart County other than their record and Tick Rogers played basketball there, it will be a long ride for Hart County to Tiger stadium, Caldwell is still mad about the last play loss last week, Tigers win.

Mayfield's scores came on two or three big plays too, it don't matter how you score, Caldwell had a td called back and a 60 yard gain nullified by phantom calls, as far as the game being called fairly, well that's debatable, Mayfield was very lucky to get out with a win, very lucky.

Despite a couple of phantom calls, one a td called back, Caldwell still had the game won, should have won it.

I would have to say Mayfield will be the favorite to win the 2a state championship, I just don't see anyone from the west beating them.

Joe Kelly Jagger's is a Caldwell County alumni, he was a well respected coach in his time and a winner, also one of the best players to ever play at Caldwell County. I assume Marty is who BluePaducah is talking about.

I agree pinkman, scrimmages are for you to see who can play or not, for most schools, I don't and wouldn't put much stock in those as far as comparing teams.

Any time a 3a school beats a 6a school it's note worthy, Caldwell's defense is under rated, and their offense gets better each game, next week it's Paducah Tilghman vs Caldwell in Princeton and should be a great game.

Russellville is quick and athletic, the only chance Crittenden has is it's a home game for them, they will have to improve a lot before beating Russellville on any field.

Crittenden has been undefeated lots of years until this game, the Tigers will be to much for the Rockets.
