  1. Bandits over Union Raiders in Junior Youth.
  2. UR over Bandits at the 2PM Junior game. Not sure on final score.
  3. Great weekend for teams located in Campbell County!
  4. Sorry you feel that way, but if you ask your Director , Aaron can tell you I personally spent a couple hours on the phone with him this week trying to help find a solution to the issue you guys had. Once again it’s easy to be upset when you don’t care to seek out all the info. My phone is always on. Good luck in the playoffs!
  5. @NKYRaider, give me a call anytime, I’d love to give you some more insight to the topics you seem to have questions or issues with. While it’s your right to be upset, I’d urge you to seek answers, before you pass judgements without all the information. Joe Tucker - NKYFL VP - 859-816-4128
  6. Cooper had a 13-0 lead under 6 minutes to go. NCC battled back and had a chance at the end zone to tie or take the lead with 30 seconds to go from the 15 yard line, just came up short. 72 for Cooper was a man on the DLine. Lee was a huge factor in the second half, when Cooper went to Wildcat formation with him. 22 Runyon had a great 2nd half for NCC, 13 Jefferson for NCC had a few more big catches, and 5 Ackerson had a great night on DLine. NCC defense played well most of the night, although it was a very sloppy first half for both teams on offense. Good win for Cooper, tough loss for NCC who never quit.
  7. While they had their struggles last year, and the record wasn’t great, did you see the schedule? 3 - 6A schools in Campbell, Conner, Cooper, add in Belfry, CAL, Beechwood, DeSales... I can’t imagine there was a tougher schedule played by anyone in 1A football, except maybe Beechwood who has moved up. As of right now the Breds are not projected to start or really count on a single Freshman or Sophomore on either side of the ball which has to be one of the few teams who can say that in Class A. I think the Breds stepping down in Class will be right in the mix come November.
  8. Numbers are up, I think Coach Herbst said he’s at 32 Freshman-Seniors and last season they finished under 20. Dayton is also starting their MS program this season, think they are around 18-20 players. Dayton Alums recently renovated the football locker rooms, shower rooms, and coaches offices. The kids are excited for the upcoming season. They are headed in the right direction!
  9. Per DHS Facebook, new coach will be Ron Kinmon. Current administrator at the school, who has a great passion for the Athletics program at DHS. Coach Kinmon most recently assisted the WV girls varsity and was the Grant County boys varsity coach for several years. The Greendevils are lucky to have him in the school and now as HC, great hire!
  10. Tough loss for Dayton and great addition for Beechwood. Coach Volpenhein is a great young coach and teacher. As an alum of DHS I’m thankful for the time he put into the program. It can be a tough place to win consistently, but he has done a great job with the students and working to grow the program. He has many more great years in front of him as a coach.
  11. Beechwood’s varsity left the game after the 3rd with a 4-0 lead. From there JV’s from both teams entered to finish. Tough way for Beechwood to “lose” their undefeated season but this wasn’t much more than a scrimmage the way both teams handled it.
  12. Must be a slow month on BGP if this is a topic. A quick google search and you can find where this came from. Lol At the same time, whether it’s a meme or quote or not , as a parent of a Freshman Bred, I love it! Hold my son accountable. These are things I tell him daily about sports, or school work, or household duties, or life etc. Do your part before you expect the rewards from it. I will also say I’ve heard nothing but good reports from the Breds off season program. Every player who isn’t in a spring sport and even some who are have been getting after it.
  13. Bad situation for him getting hurt, but it’s a tough argument to say he’s not the best player in the state.
  14. Heard TMC offered the field up to NewCath this year and that was the only date that worked.
  15. Although a little lighter than years past and especially last year (Back to back road trips to Belfry & CAL) this has to be one of the toughest schedules in 1A. The Breds will be in a great spot under the new playoff format if they perform well. I also love the bye week before the first district game, great to regroup after a tough first half of the season.
  16. I’ve personally never seen a high school game where time was added onto the clock. Unless the clock person just ran clock in mistake. 2.2 vs 6 sec makes a huge difference. But I take nothing from Ryle who played a great game and drew up a great final play. Overall great game.
  17. Final Four matchups for Saturday at Cov Cath... 6:00 - Cov Cath vs St Henry 7:30 - New Cath vs Ryle
  18. Newport Central Catholic OL- Jayden Lankheit - Georgetown College DB - Hunter Cain - Georgetown College Previously signed... DB - Kyle Kelly - Ohio University
  19. I will tell you from working within the NKYFL our insurance doubled in the past few years for our league. After shopping we were able to bring it back down some. We also learned that there is basically only 8 major insurance companies in the world that will entertain insuring youth football and it’s getting increasingly tougher which is alarming. It’s definitely an issue that could effect football as a whole down the road. Also our cheer insurance has been higher than football per Participant for many years, at least as long as I have been around (10 seasons). That’s even with special provisions on things they are allowed to do which is more restrictive that the more competitive types of cheer leagues.
  20. Congratulations to Jesse Herbst, great hire to lead the turn around of the Greendevils program!
  21. Did Eckstein come on board mid last season? Any chance he’s headed back to the sideline as a HC?
  22. Heard they were doing interviews on the 12/27, so hopefully there is a new coach in place when they return from Christmas break. Also heard there were over a dozen applications. Hopefully they can bring in a great hire!
  23. Personally as an Alum I think opposite. They need a new face to turn the program upside down. Maybe a guy with a Dayton connection but I think it needs to be someone who has been removed from Dayton for a while to be able to come in as fairly unknown by the families and kids to set a new tone for the program. Low numbers have killed the Greendevils the last few years, but there are many good athletes and great kids in the halls currently that just haven’t came out for HS football the last few years. A lot of kids who played a lot of youth football and had some success there. I think whoever the new coach is has to address the numbers issue first, because this past season and the trend the last few years has them borderline not fielding a team. I also hope they move fast to fill the position , now that everyone’s seasons are over the sooner the better IMO to start building those relationships with the kids and get them excited to get back on the field.
