  1. 35-10 Male was my score in the other thread. I bet Male is excited to be on turf after 3 straight home games, two of which in rainy conditions. Everybody keeps talking about the weapons on offense. male's D is amazing.
  2. Best to go down the street and see Male @ Trinity.
  3. Wakefield's dad is listed as a former Campbellsville player in the Male program. This game boils down to defenses. You can bet the Rocks have a gameplan. Can Male shut down Trinity? The Rocks really hurt the JV Bulldogs rushing attack. I doubt the same will be said for Varsity. Male 35-10
  4. Don't know particulars but this is a universal scenario. Why don't parents allow their children to work hard and persevere? Nothing wrong with a parent helping their child set goals and accomplishing them. That's all a part of maturing into an adult. Not everyone is willing to quit a job for a lateral position elsewhere. Sometimes a player is better off leaving. Sometimes the player just needs to have some patience. Prove it on the practice field and show your worth If a parent is so vocal or kid is so unhappy, best for them to go. Let the coaches coach.
  5. Hate to hear this anywhere. Glad it's happening everywhere. Unfortunately, the kids struggle while parents live out their dreams.
  6. before the district race took form, this looked to be a defensive struggle. Manual has done well keeping opponent scoring down. I'm not sure what to make of the X defense. Male took control in the first half and never looked back last week. The Crimsons are athletic and play sound D, but can they score? I think Manual moves the ball enough to pull out the victory 13-10
  7. I have been really impressed with the Male defense. They've been doing a great job shutting down opponent rushing. X had a few decent runs but not consistent enough to swing momentum in their favor. Male took control with the first play and never looked back.
  8. 33-13 Male This game was not even that close. The Frosh Bulldogs are 6-0 with Trinity and @ Manual remaining.
  9. Not a fan but supporter... Out of nearly 90 snaps Male passed 28 times. This game was proof that they can win games by grinding it out, which is something many questioned with their weapons at the skill positions. The margin of victory doesn't always tell the whole story. Meade has a good team. I would like that game played in dry conditions and it would have been running clock like the JV game earlier in the week.
  10. Male dominated the game. Once the rain started (end of 1st) Male was content with running the ball. The OLine responded well as did RB Cain. Meade couldn't find a rhythm on Offense. Whether or not certain players played... I don't know particulars but as a spectator this one wasn't even close.
  11. Male put a hurting on the Tigers in their JV contest tonight. X seemed to be outmatched from the start. The weight of JV games have been debated here before. I really think Male can get a solid victory Friday. I guess we will see. Male 33-13.
  12. Rocks, That was probably because JTown came with a skeleton of a squad. Freshman play 8 minutes. JV play 10
  13. JV is important. Some kids are JV starters only to be replaced by someone younger on the varsity level next season. JV provides repetitions for players and opportunities for coaches to adjust schemes. I do agree that JV is last in the pecking order behind varsity and Frosh. But again, JV should be all about the reps and scheme adjustments
  14. 33-21 St X. For some reason I think there will be scoring in this game
  15. JTown is in a tough spot. With realignment right around the corner, the Chargers are in position to be the doormat of their district. It never fared well for JTown in the old 4A but when they reclassified things got better. In the grand scheme of things, it is not a bad destination. Maybe somebody knows more than me. Perhaps the administration is not on board with the coach or have little faith in his leadership of the program. The question is: What on earth can cause administration to fire a coach of any sport mid-season? Performance? Scandal? Lack of control? This is interesting...
  16. Male has an offense that will put up points in a hurry. I was a bit surprised that the defense allowed Jtown a number of steady drives.
  17. I applaud Fairdale for scheduling competition. It will prepare them for their district. The gate they received for the Male game should help their athletic dept SOME. I guarantee it's the largest crowd they get this year. And, I'm sure X has a compensation package prepared for Fairdale.
  18. Any up-and-coming Bulldogs to look out for? I guess J-town is that bad... Not a good look for your frosh to get beat up and you're headed to 6A next season.
  19. what a joke. This does nothing to promote critical thinking. Explaining why is going to be great when these kids grow up and assume all of this national debt...
  20. No way Butler is top 10. I'm interested to see how Manual looks without Nero. Not sure of the truth, but I hear Manual's QB is nursing an injury as well. We'll see how St. X responds vs Fairdale. In terms of common opponents, Male blew out Fairdale 49-0 at half.
  21. Well one thing is for sure... Philadelphia and the state of Pennsylvania allows for charter schools. Something Kentucky will now even get to the people's vote. It can only be a good thing for the inner city kids of Philly to have a choice on their education. One that provides African-centered principles is an added bonus. After a little research on the school and others similar to it nationally, scores are through the roof compared to publics with the same demographics. This is a win-win. This school seems to have the balance of academics and athletics charter schools generally lack. Respect to the Rocks for finding quality opponents. Hopefully, the mayor of Louisville and Trinity alum is at the game. Maybe he can see the value of such a school here in town and get the ball rolling.
  22. From what I'm hearing about the JV / Freshman doubleheader tonight, I'm going with Male big. Butler looks to be down and both Male squads rolled. Male 41 Butler 7
  23. Isn't Atherton/Shawnee the second oldest rivalry in Louisville? Those two being undefeated at the same time is something.
