The squeaky wheel gets grease. Regardless, the playoff system is too watered down. If only the top two advance, T and M would've been at home last night while X and H would've had more competitive opponents. Is it fair that the best four teams are in the same district? Yes! Put more of an emphasis on winning each game. I really don't like all the realignments but you have to think khsaa will figure it out at some point.

I agree but this situation is especially true.

JTown should get some good applicants. It's going to take a few years but the talent is already there. Going to 6A with T, and Ballard the likely district favorites year in and out. I was impressed with the skill and size of the Chargers. I didn't think they had much structure. Hopefully the next person gets them on the same page. Makes you wonder why some Louisville schools are successful and others stink.

Kentucky Class 6A Rankings for 11-3 - Final 2014 Rankings
Ham Bone replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
There used to be Indiana kids enrolled in JCPS for Shawnee's aviation magnet and they were paying tuition. Not sure anymore after the school went through transformation. -
dude, you must not have been at a game last Friday. The entire region dealt with crazy weather (even Cincinnati). You can't use one game that for the most part meant nothing as your basis for an argument. X is on the right track. Everybody wants to compare coaches but last I checked T was kicking X's behind. X finally gets a win in the series and folks still aren't satisfied. If it were some Johnny-come-lately, I might get it. But this is your guy, X fans. Your guy came home to coach y'all's team!

This title should read JCPS Final. -
I really think this is why St X won't get over the hump and I'm afraid Wolford will be to blame. So many are convinced he's no better than the previous guy. The previous guy is gone! You would hope a tradition as rich as X would not do that to a coach that happens to be an alum. He beat your biggest rival (that's been dominating you) in his second year. It just appears that Wolford doesn't get the respect he deserves.

Which ever team survives H, X, T, or M will have to go @ Scott Co. If the Super District team can go to the defending champ and win the other games will be much easier. Nothing against the bottom half, the above-mentioned teams have a distinct advantage. In terms of which team survives, I have to go with Male. If T were to rematch X, I would definitely say the Rocks win. But that's not this year's bracket sets up. Male wins @ home vs T because they don't have the same mistakes they overcame before to squeak by. In my opinion, Male and X weren't even on the same level. Scott County poses a big threat with their running game but nobody has been able to run the ball on Male. If anybody can, it will be Scott Co @ home. In the end I think the Bulldogs will get their championship.

For the record... I'm one of the two votes for Male vs. 23 for the Field.

Before this thread gets out of hand with chest thumping... There are a limited amount of teams who are primed to compete year in and year out. You've listed the top tier teams. I just find it unfortunate that the talented teams are dispersed through 6 classes. Now they have no reason to schedule tough opponents outside district.

It's easier predicting March Madness.

Indeed! Hope each team is at their best for when it counts.

6A playoffs - Will the Louisville District win all 4 games
Ham Bone replied to FanofMany's topic in KY Football (High School)
kids are saying Nero had a partial tear and not complete. Perhaps he is bionic. Perhaps he has bad advice. Perhaps he is just living in the moment. Nero at partial strength helps Manual's offense. Why risk it? -
Projected pairings for 6-A football playoffs
Ham Bone replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Football (High School)
I don't think there's much argument. The best teams are all on one side of the bracket. -
Male has to figure out how to finish teams off. Every game the Bulldogs seem to come out of halftime flat. Big game vs. CAL and crunch time! Kudos to the Crimsons for a hard fought game. Manual racked up passing tonight. I am anxious to see the box score. Probably had 400+ yards passing but couldn't run to save their lives. Side note: Nero dressed and was a captain but did not play

A TON of distractions this week. The Bulldogs have beaten X and T and have to play a Manual team that lost to both. These teams are closer than some want to think. Manual is on a streak against their rival. I believe these seniors have never lost to Male in varsity football. That is huge and deserving of respect. Imagine the X fans feeling the heat from consecutive defeats. The streak hurts Manual more than Male. H has been trying to put together a complete game and I think this one fits the bill. M will keep it close in the first half, then H starts clicking. It will start with defense and end with defense. Both squads have proven their excellent play. Too many weapons for M to game plan for... I've seen both teams. Male will give up a dumb play, and then torch Manual deep.l; 18 Manual 43 Male

J-Town is not a bad team. This game will say a lot about their chances at winning next year more than anything. This must-win will pale in comparison to next year (Trinity, Ballard, Eastern, Seneca).
-
Defensive struggle. Male had mistake after mistake but we're able to score and convert the 2 point attempt. With the Super District ending and these two teams going in to separate districts, I would hope these two teams continue to play one another. The three levels of play were decided by a total of 10 points with Male winning varsity and Frosh.

Jordan Davis/Michael Dunn--Stand Your Ground

Shame we still have people this messed up. -
Male squeaked by with the victory in hostile territory. Trinity had to feel good about having the chance to win considering the Bulldogs had two dropped balls in the end zone on separate drives and two other drops with nobody to stop the touchdowns. There are no moral victories in the Super District. Male has things to work on for sure. Improvement from here on out is key. Best to learn with a W than a L. Even though Manual is a moot point, the Bulldogs have to be prepared to compete every week.

John Hardin 24 Central Hardin 6 (Frosh)
Ham Bone replied to hoss403's topic in KY Football (High School)
Male beat St. X Frosh 33-13 using 10 minute quarters. #3 Livers really impressed me the most. He is a quick, shifty runner. #25 is a bruiser with speed. -

John Hardin has talent and look to be solid down the road. I saw this frosh squad give Male all they wanted a few weeks back. JH probably should have won that game. Hoss, did you go to the game? I wonder how did #10 and #3 play? These kids are the real deal -
