  1. From what I hear Wakefield should be able to complete again soon. I look for him to sit out for Ballard and play limited action against Fairdale before the Rocks in week 4.
  2. This game wasn't even close and the stats will tell the tale. Male played their game and completely shut down the opponent rushing attack. Z. Smith looks great and the deep ball scored early without Wakefield. Running clock with three qbs seeing action
  3. 7 Fern Creek 5 Central 3 Ballard 2 North Oldham 1 Trimble TB Central
  4. This scrimmage was played on E-Town's Sports Complex (awesome facilities btw). Freshman played controlled scrimmage of 2 ten-play drives. Then the varsity played a half with no contact on qb and uncontested special teams. The freshman played again with their same format. Not sure what McCracken did but Male looked to play their starters for one drive after halftime and went reserves the rest of the way. Recap: Male frosh look good or McCracken looks terrible. I'm sure it meets somewhere in the middle. This was not even close. The Varsity contest was won by Male. The scoreboard reset at the half. Male took the first half 35-7 and the second half 34-0.
  5. Last I checked football is played with 11 at a time. While depth is always a great problem to have, I'll be surprised if any more than 20 see any significant clock
  6. The green goggles are real but every Rocks fan has the right. You should feel proud of your team! Many public school teams will be intimidated by the green machine before the first snap. Male won't be. Last year these teams played each other close on every level. Talent AND coaching are on par with each other
  7. Somehow a few JCPS fields have rubber tracks. I'm curious to how that's not considered an advantage. I think it's ridiculous with the cost to maintain so many fields. Turf them all, and put soccer lines in yellow. Maybe someone with knowledge of turf can answer... How many years do you get out of a turf field?
  8. I agree with the homeowner. You should have privacy on property with a 6' fence. I do believe he waited and waited until the exact moment to fire his weapon.
  9. I remember two Manual skill players transfer to this school about 15+ years ago and made a huge impact. Unless he's bringing the cavalry with him it's a head scratcher. But, we've seen stranger things happen before. I hope my Intel is wrong
  10. Clearly this is some nonsense. Anybody that knows or follows Male knows the Bulldogs are breaking in a new qb and three new offensive linemen. Carry on
  11. solid band directors put in work daily. Aside from marching band, all have symphonic of some sort among other bands they prepare for. Paid teacher's salary. I voted no, but I'm not saying it's going to be right everywhere all the time. Bottom line we value what we want
  12. Has anyone heard about the Male spring game? I will have to find out how the team is looking
  13. Any sound defensive strategy attempts to stop the run and pass. Not sure it develops bad tendencies for any position. Repetitions against quality competition allows the coaching staff to correct errors. I've seen some treat 7on7 like Madden running slants and streaks.
  14. If John is playing nearby, and you're looking for a game to see, you owe yourself. Their Frosh should take little time to be Varsity ready. In fact, about 5 of those Frosh should be starters for 3 years and potential next-level talents. I'm mainly speaking of the thunder & lightning rb combo as well as the qb/safety.
  15. J-Town is not that far away from breaking through. I hope the next coach can create some teamwork. The players often seemed disinterested with the coaching staff the few times I observed. Dakota White is a junior to be and would be playing at any other school within JCPS at receiver or db. Tough for the Chargers as Trinity joins their district as JTown moves up. I really believe J-Town, Seneca, and Eastern will compete for third in their district. I wouldn't be surprised if enter takes 3rd or 5th. A lot separates Trinity from Ballard and then a monumental drop-off from the Bruins to the rest. Best of luck to the Chargers of Jeffersontown! I know quite a few of their players and wish them all the best. Good luck to the new coach.
  16. Yes If I remember correctly Ken left Waggener to coach with son Kyle in NKY (Ryle?) after the loss to Highlands for 1998 3A title. Wolfe came in after that.
  17. Those 1998 and 2000 Wildcat teams were under different coaches. First Hockman, then Wolfe. As mentioned, Redman had success prior. My point is it's possible and proven by three different coaches Good luck to the new coach!
  18. What a thread! Clearly T and X have an advantage over the public supers. Louisville's JCPS has funny enrollment. villecoach is correct in that Manual has all the extra requirements but as long as you qualify you get a bus to pick you up. Recently Male has been hampered by their enrollment being capped. As it stands now, there are three traditional middle schools that Male can draw from and share with Butler. There haven't been any kids from a waiting list in a few years. Please with the coaching comment. :ohbrother: For H and M to be competing as well as they have there must be good coaching. kids in Louisville all know where to go if you want to WIN playing football. The same has been said for other KY regions.
  19. Why are you determined to indict Wakefield? He was the one getting all the players back! The kids started jawing pregame. This goes back to the season games. As for H folks not needing to be by the T bench... Both teams have 100 players dressed for Friday nights. There will be long lines of players after a game. After the game while T huddled in the end zone (Male's side of the field) it was T adults who were running their mouths to H adults near the concession stand! Bottom line, if the quote questioned by the original post is true, it could not be said by a coach on the losing side. This is all about something stupid that starts mess all the time. From HS to pro. T didn't want H celebrating on their huge midfield T. So after ter this game, while this royal rumble:deadhorse: took place on T's sideline, where were a few T players dancing? Of course, Male's huge midfield H. Dumb
  20. This is turning in to some soap opera. The story is being stretched because everybody bundled up in the stands could hear what was said on the field. :ohbrother: a T asst. coach said something to an H asst. coach. Beatty got in the mix so the T players got in the mix. H players responded and were more difficult to get composed after an OT loss. Nothing major happened. Nothing worthy of discipline for coach or player. An emotional rivalry with a pair of super match-ups. This type of nonsense and "exposure" is another example of why many leagues have abandoned the post-game handshake altogether. Also, I hope the adults can let it go. H and T provided us with two great games this season. Bulldogs won in 2OT @ T. Shamrocks won in OT @ H. The last thing KY 6A football needs is for these two teams to avoid scheduling each other harboring some bad blood. As I've said before, the JV and Freshman games were decided by less than a TD.
  21. Male should've handled business better the first game. It was the test the Bulldogs needed. They know how to handle a big game without it getting bigger than them. Like those dropped touchdowns that kept the rocks close.
  22. Really a toss up. X handled Manual the first time around. That may have been Manual's worst game in terms of turnovers. Perhaps the streak ends for the Tigers over the Crimsons. I do believe so. Crimsons 17 St. X 14
