I knew you were an NBA man! -
I don't get nearly as excited about other sports as basketball! I love the high school level more than any.College would be next then professional, in that order. Curious as to what order others prefer?

Overall assessment of officiating in the state?
Anchor replied to BigVMan23's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Well I'm tired of playing high school talk with you "Birdman" I'm sure people may say something but they keep it to themselves. It probably wouldn't be smart in the heat of the moment anyways. I know I probably wouldn't say anything to another fan that was all caught up in the heat of the moment. It usually doesn't end well for one. Some probably think it but they don't really say it.Beam on!- 69 replies

I really don't give a crap whether you have feelings! I did ruffle your feathers though. I've never seen someone write so much that had no feelings though.. Did you marry a referee? Hey if you ever hear me yell at a game feel free to come call me a tool bag.- 69 replies

Overall assessment of officiating in the state?

I agree that their job is tough. I have told ref's they did a good job on several occasions. What I don't understand is how the same ones that are horrible today, tomorrow, and the next day, get to continue being horrible. It's obvious that some are just not good at it. I would not be good at it and I know this. I also understand that if your superiors don't make you aware of the problem, you will not know that you need improving. I'm sure I yell plenty more than I should.- 69 replies

Ohhh! Did someone hurt your feelings? I think I know the sport pretty well, and I don't expect you to retract anything. I along with others enjoy your encouraging articles about what people don't know. I look forward to the positive readings in the future. I did not retire from refereeing, but I have learned that some people need to. Good luck to you as well!- 69 replies

Myopic mindset? How about someone that thinks you can continuously screw up on the job! I don't have a job that will allow that. There are several good referees out there, but several that are not also. If you screw up continuously on a job then you get demoted or reprimanded in some way. I guess you get promoted in refereeing! You are the perfect fan though" Birdbrain", and I'm sure your knowledge of the game far exceeds mine. We fans that yell at refs that make mistakes over and over will sit quietly for you to enjoy...- 69 replies

I think it's been horrible this year! I wouldn't want to ref either ,but if you do ....expect to get yelled at. The problem I have is refs calling games for schools they attended, kids attend, etc.. Don't call a foul because you think it's going to be one. Call it if it's a foul!! How are you supposed to guard someone if your body touches them ,even if they create the contact, it's called a foul?- 69 replies

The refs made them stay on the floor as they were heading to the bench. They realized the one ref made a mistake. Oh well, game over -
That's what I thought,just making sure.

If you hold a kid back in middle school now then they can't play sports year they repeat? Is this now the rule? Just making sure!

Best Referees in the 12th Region?
Anchor replied to Gunslinger's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Lonnie and Kyle are pretty good. I just think basketball has become a little sissy game. You can not keep quick players away from the rim if you aren't allowed to touch them. A guy can slide his feet ,hands straight up,and still be called for a foul. I see it every game and it ticks me off! The push off never gets called though. I guess that's why the offensive player has the advantage. Just talking a little about the way the game has changed for the worst in my opinion. The charge is ridiculous now too! Let the kids play a little,please.. -

Boyle was colder than the outdoor temp! 28% for the game. They should have won this game period!
