Best Referees in the 12th Region?

Featured Replies

I like Tony Gray. I think he does a good job.

There's a with black hair who did the Boyle/Southwestern game last night. I like him. He seems consistent.

Lonnie McGuire doesn't bother me. When he makes a call he knows he made the correct call even if it looks wrong to me. If he messes up he acknowledges it. I respect that.

I like Mark Bryant more than most people. You can tell him what someone is doing and he'll look for it and make the call if he sees it.

I like Kyle Bottom also but he hasn't done any of the games I have been at so far this season.

I know a lot of faces but not names. There are some I don't like but I don't know their names and if I did know their names I wouldn't put them on blast on here. You couldn't pay me enough money to be a ref. They get abused by fans mercilessly these days. I wouldn't be able to handle it. The coaches wouldn't bother me. The fans would.

I guess id go with Kyle Bottoms and Lonnie McGuire .... They dont seem to get rattled or take things personally...agree PP i could not/would not be a ref

I just popped some popcorn

worst, most underpaid job ever.....they all suck....and they are all great.

I wont judge individually, they do a job I would never attempt. I like referees that do not take away from the game. I do not like referees that want the game to be about them.

And now I would like some of Wireman's popcorn

KT Turner, Tony Gray, and Kyle Bottoms.

Ill take KT for my 3rd to go with K Bottoms and Lonnie. Good call Thunder1

I know it is easy to complain about officiating, and nobody is going to get every call right or agree with every call, but for the most part, I think the guys in the 12th Region do a good job.

Tino Martinez is one of the best but gets little credit or good games.

I'll be looking out for him. I'm sure I have seen him before.

Lonnie and Kyle are pretty good. I just think basketball has become a little sissy game. You can not keep quick players away from the rim if you aren't allowed to touch them. A guy can slide his feet ,hands straight up,and still be called for a foul. I see it every game and it ticks me off! The push off never gets called though. I guess that's why the offensive player has the advantage. Just talking a little about the way the game has changed for the worst in my opinion. The charge is ridiculous now too! Let the kids play a little,please..

Haven't been impressed with a single 12th region official this season. These guys are all bad in my book. Our region used to be known for some of the best officiating in the state, amazing what a few years and lack of effort can do. I'll give em one thing tho, they're consistent... Consistently terrible!

I'm probably one of the few people that look forward to the outta region refs come tourney time, just so I don't have to see the same ones making the same dumb calls. *drops mic*

Didn't see that train wreck coming....
