I would have to say LC will own September. I see them going undefeated in that month. I thought that Ryle was the scariest game to me. There were a number of reasons on why I didn't feel confident for that one. Going into the game the Knights had played Ballard in a scrimmage and Boone County in their first regular season game. I said numerous times that the "training wheels were coming off". I made that statement for this reason: in that scrimmage against Ballard they were leading and pulled most of the starters at halftime and everyone of them after the 3 quarter. Against Boone County it was the middle of the second quarter when we pulled everyone. When you're winning big and laughing on the sideline life is good. When Ryle didn't roll over, they countered LexCath with a flurry that the team hadn't seen yet, they were in shock. The kids were used to the third quarter relaxation that they had experienced early this year. That is the fault of the players and coaches for not better preparing themselves for a team that was battle tested in their previous two weeks. That was not a quality display of four quarters. LexCath didn't play like champions in that second half. I've had people blame the late kick but it was late for the Ryle players and staff too. Instead I blame our efforts solely on us. Keep everyone accountable. 156 yards in penalties that is not disciplined football. 8 dropped balls from our starting wide outs, that's not acceptable. Getting whipped around in the second half on the lines of scrimmage that's not championship football. Special team coverage and returns was the worst night I've seen in a decade of LexCath football. After practice today they will be locked back into reality. That Taste of losing is the best reality check out there. And I can assure you that today's practice will resemble track practice because there will a price to pay for those errors on Friday. Good afternoon

I said it in a previous thread, the way 3A is designed this year teams will take turns looking the most impressive. The month of August goes to Boyle County.

After two games it's tough to tell. Being 2-0 says a lot, so an argument between Belfry and Boyle at 1 & 2 is in order. Right now I myself would go Boyle 1 Belfry 2. Then it's a cluster at 3-7......

First off congrats to Ryle and Coach Engler. The fans that I met were kind to our kids and conducted themselves with class. The actually game break down is to say that LexCath got totally outplayed in the second half. Not sure if it was the adjustments, the effort, or if Ryle was just better but we stunk it up in the second half. I think it was a combination of all 3 but the better team won. The most frustrating part wasn't losing but it was the things that we were doing. A ateam that's trying to contend can not do this. Dropped passes, missed blocks, drive killing penalties, and overall effort. This is a journey and I think come November we will be fine. I can only hope that sooner rather than later that we understand that there is nothing easy about winning at this level of football....

Jackson was so raw last year, but he's made strides this season. Huge steps for a beginner in the sport. Next level Carpenter and Lankford will play at some level. I thought we looked solid against Ballard, the Boone game isn't a good game to gauge, but these next 3 will tell us if we are the real deal.

Great week of practice at LexCath. The kids are putting in the time and preparation for the matchup against Ryle.

Laser times from a combine where a number of players participated in. This shows you how fast this young man is. Kids from different states and Powell didn't finish in the top 20 in any drill.

Dillion Powell wasn't the fastest kid on the field. Mason Allstat was the fastest kid out there, but speed doesn't make you a better player. I think Powell and his team out played Lafayette but you can't say he's faster than the kids at Lafayette. As far this game goes SK should be favored because Bryan Station has to win shootouts and their defense can't stop a nose bleed. SK brings in a better overall team so I can give them a 5 point edge.

It's kind of good that some of these players on LC are being overlooked.

No way you can compare beating Tates Creek helps your argument. Ryle is a way better team.

Central was not the favorite in that game. Central is still a top team in 3A. Belfry, LexCath, Boyle, and Central will take turns looking the most impressive. Based on who they beat you'd have to say that Boyle had the best win this past weekend.
