You must have went for a hotdog for about 30 minutes then. We scored twice. G’way had some misses and yes we could have just plowed it in a time or 2 but working on passing game.

Varsity offense scored twice and varsity only played 2 quarters - Dillard and Green. There were 2 pick 6’s one was in JV I don’t remember the other. O dove to about the 10 three times no points. G’way missed alot down in close but some of that was due to mayfield. Red Devil line play was very good IMO for the first time out.

O had ball on 10 yard line 3 times no score. 14-7 varsity. Ganaway did not look sharp missed several TDs. O defense looked really good, Ashley didn’t play every series and no pullom and no shemwell. Mayfield has to feel good about competing. As I previously stated O needs speed in backfield. Green is more thunder but Walker looked unstoppable even as a freshman. He has got to be the lead back. Maybe Kindle will get a chance too. Nose guard is a man. O great defense and good first scrimmage. Can’t wait to see us vs South Warren but Walker will need more reps as the lead back.

I’ve been told much bigger up front this year. D line is also restocking but has Pullom and Payton back. IMO this year will be tougher losing Hampton. Tons of skill guys but I believe at RB will be key. Green doesn’t gave breakaway speed but Kindle and Walker do, so they must figure prominently into the mix. G’way junior should destroy most of what’s in his path if the line gives him a little time withShemwell, Dillard, Bryant, Waddy, Fountain, the new kid from Evansville at WR. So much speed on both sides of ball.

Owensboro travels to Mayfield this Friday for a scrimmage.

Owensboro an impressive 6-0 varsity today in Evansville Indiana. Beat Glenwood Illinois, 6A only list to East St. Louis in 2025. Brownstown Indiana, 14-1 and 2A runner ups, Gibson Southern, 12-2 lost in semi-state 3A, beat Heritage Hills and lost to Rochester Illinois who was 4A runner ups there. Also beat Marion , Evansville Memorial and Evansville Central. Memorial was undefeated until losing by a TD last year to Gibson Southern. Very good pool, GS gave Oa tough game and has a good QB with some big WR’s. I think they will do well.

Last year their line looked grown men…a definite advantage to the Raiders.

I agree @TimeWillTell line play is the concern. We are younger but bigger up front. UA all-American is a freshman (James) he is listed at 6-3 265 - I’m guessing by end of year he is starting. Land is a returning starter at guard. We did get this kid from Ohio county…his only Hudl is from 2 years ago, but he is 6-2, 300. Owensboro did what they wanted to Apollo and MNH, Graves had a really good run defense. Those 3 played each other really good, and as @zoneblitz24 says they get them at home. As @theguru asked, Ithink Owensboro is A favorite with Wofo and Scott. Mix in BG resurgence, Pulaski and Atherton.

Watching highlights of Queen and Fryman they are both outstanding high school football players and will make a big splash wherever they go in College. Congrats to Queen. He throws a beautiful ball.

Kindle ran a 4.5 as well per underarmour. Wow this team is loaded with speed.

UnderArmour in St. Louis: Dillard ran a 4.4 40 G'way a 4.5 Fountain and Pullom a 4.6 Shemwell was there but I didn't see his 40 listed, I would guess 4.5 to 4.6.

I agree we need DL but we did lose Hampton at MLB - I was guessing Basham at MLB.

Looks like a kid from Apollo transferred to Owensboro. Had almost 100 tackles for Apollo last year.

His dad was an All-American lineman for WKU and is on the all-century team there. Ty is an amazing athlete - plenty of speed and power.
