If any were to make it to the state semis they would face the winner of region 1 (Tilghman, Caldwell Co, etc.) and then the winner of 3 vs 4 in the finals. I am going to say with 90% accuracy that this is NOT what the voting members wanted as a resolution. They wanted rotation inside of the semi state. Not for Floyd Central to travel to Louisville Central in the 1st round. SMH.

I haven't seen the new bracket. The item was listed on the agenda to adopt the brackets in the meetings on Friday but there isn't an attachment of what they are. Several other attachments, such as track re-alignment, are there but no football attachment.

This is 100% correct. We are too early. Hearing of several schools with 40ish out. Should start this coming Monday at the earliest if not the following. 5 days of helmets. 5 days of shells. 2 weeks of full pads. 1 scrimmage on what is now weekend zero. 1st games on the weekend before Labor Day. Take the next 11 weeks to play 10 games end the 1st week in November. It's not rocket science.

Powell returns a solid player in Skidmore that will really carry their offense. Bad news-they could easily start the season 0-4 with 4 solid opponents, 3 of them on the road. (@ Garrard Co, @ West Carter, Bath Co, @ Lawrence Co.) Good news-they could very well finish 6-0 and win their district getting Knott Central and Breathitt County at home.

Based on last years roster numbers in general may be their biggest issue. There were less that a dozen sophomores and freshmen combined last season.

Aug 18 - Bourbon County (at Lincoln County) Aug 25 - at Williamsburg Sept 1 - OPEN? Sept 8 - at Hazard Sept 15 - North Laurel Sept 22 - Rockcastle County Sept 29 - at Raceland Oct 6 - Danville Oct 13 - at Lexington Christian Oct 20 - Middlesboro Oct 27 - OPEN? this is a solid schedule with or without Beechwood. They may be good this season but 5 wins on this schedule would be an accomplishment most any team.

No updates other than the nightcap games all 3 days should be very good.

I haven't seen it but it says Russell will be the team to beat.
