In your response lies a chunk of the issue - soccer. How bout you make soccer a spring sport? The soccer and football programs would BOTH benefit as well as the shared facilities at most of the schools in question. You make that happen and you go from basically taking each other’s athletes to working hand in hand training each others athletes.

I would 2nd that. Rogers, Mitchell, and Peyton are gone but the current team may be the tallest and deepest overall in recent memory. They will challenge for the district title for the next 3 seasons for sure.

I see this shaking up a lot by Christmas. Does anyone know the current status of Alexander for Fleming and Stump for Russell? Both would have a huge say in the play of their schools.

If Boyle Co and E'town meet in semi's who is the host? I think it is E'town/ Region 1 this year. If so that could be an interesting match up come Thanksgiving weekend. And yes Chuck Smith has only picked up where he left off some years ago at Boyle County. Expect the same for however long he is there to continue.

I said this 6 weeks ago. Fleming will have to play well to beat Garrard and Wandale is going to have 500 yards on Russell.

Bath County returns everyone. Only 6 Seniors and only 3 of them are starters.

Bath County and Russell should be the district favorites next year and the game is at Bath County.

It is a long drive in both directions. I recommend a stop at Gatti's in Pikeville on the way back.

This year seems pretty straight forward with who is going to be in regional finals: Region 1 - E'town vs Caldwell Co. Region 2 - Boyle Co. vs Lexington Catholic Region 3 - Belfry vs Central Region 4 - Corbin vs Casey Co. Next season may open the door for someone new in the title game with Boyle Co, Lexington Catholic, Belfry, Casey Co., and Corbin all on the same side of the bracket along with E'town getting hit hard by graduation (33% of their roster are Seniors).

Calpreps seems to have a real handle on where teams actually are/ should be in strength and competition level.

This is very true. Bears beware. Strange things happen up behind the school on Friday nights. Seen 2 TD favorites lose by 2 TD's....and it's senior night.

Interesting that the 2 people on here that seem to agree with me are from Fleming County, who has played both Bath County and Russell on the road.

If FC wins they get the #1 seed. If BC beats FC and Russell they get the #1 seed. If BC beats FC but loses to Russell FC gets the #1 seed and BC would get the #2 seed in the tiebreaker scenario. If BC loses to FC and beats Russell Then FC gets #1 and BC gets the #2.

What? This happens? There should be some kind of organization set up to oversee and regulate high school athletics to ensure these things don't happen and all schools abide by the same rules. What does everyone else think?
