  1. He will be the Head Coach at Central next year, directly from the source.
  2. I have been told Great leader and Manager of his staff/program. Not a big X and O type, let's his coaches coach. Hope the administration will work with the new coach and let more football players in for 2016 or George "Papa Bear" Halas would not be able to win against the better 6A schools. My 2 cents.
  3. The need to make sure whoever goes there next, knows what the expectations are and what they are dealing with as far as enrollment and acceptance to any of the programs offered. Manual is a great school, rich in tradition, and needs to find a "leader and mentor" to guide it's young men into the future. Keep in mind there are some lean years coming to the program between last years and this years freshmen class.
  4. If Boyle plays central like they did Waggener last night, they will do them the same way maybe worse. Centrals passing attack is no where near Waggener's. Boyle was the best team Waggener had faced all year in my opinion. Some injuries and misfortune derailed their train last night but if I know the coaches and players they will be back next year and hungry. Just for the record from the mouth of Coach Smith after the game, "That was the fastest team we have seen, man your team was fast." that was said to Coach Johnson on the field.
  5. #27 is the back up, #1 was injured and did not play.
  6. Final statement: In my opinion Waggener has 4 WR's and 1 RB that is faster than the 1 fast player (#3) I watched on on video. Maybe not by much but still faster. Of course that is to say not sure how fast the Boyle team really is.
  7. Based on how Lex Cath ran right past Boyle multiple times is not delusional. Waggener has more team speed and faster kids, fact. I personally know a trainer who works with sevral lex/jeff cnty kids who has spoken that to me as fact when asked about speed of players. But all of this is just for the board can't wait til the sports tonight to see how it works out in the first round. Not sure about the dishonest part?
  8. I think this one will be a old school power football slugfest. I think HCO will pull this out in the end.
  9. Harpers - yes, Immediate impact I would say 1 of the transfers is a game changer. The rest are really good players that have bought into the scheme and team concept. Discipline and direction was lacking in the program in the past and the new staff has given them a direction to follow. They only have 4 coaches on their staff, show me a team that has done more with less with that type of turn around. I am a die hard "Manual Crimson for life", but I will support Coach Johnson and his staff for the great stuff they did while at Manual. Go Waggener wildcats, out!!!
  10. To set the record straight, they had a total of 7 transfers, 2 of which no longer are on the team. Have they made an impact this season, yes. But the biggest change has been the coaching staff that left Manual and has revitalized the entire school with their positive attitude, mentoring, and of course football coaching ability. They finished the season last year with 20 kids participating in the 1st round. Looking at KHSAA they have 30 plus players listed and 21 seniors, the same seniors that went 1-10 the previous year. I hope Boyle County is ready, I have seen Waggener and they are big as well as fast (I would bet Boyle has not played a team all year this fast and yeah I have watched Boyle vs Lex Cath on prepspin.com, Waggener is way faster at all 4 WR and RB positions.) Boyle is the most fundamentally sound team I have watched all year with the exception of Male/T or X at 6A. Im off the soap box, just my 2 cents. Hope both teams play to their abilities and the best team wins.
  11. This will be one of the better first round games is my prediction. Waggener seems to have got it together on all 3 phases of the game. Their team speed will give them a chance. It will boil down to execution and mistakes. I can't wait to see what happens on Friday night. Boyle's run game is legit and they look to be a strong senior lead team.
  12. Coached against OS in VA for 12 years. Coach Morgan is a beast of a coach, he runs the whole show. They have not lost a district contest in 8 or 9 years. Good luck to JC, OS is down a little this year is the report I got from my old peeps in the 757.
  13. Congrats to Coach Johnson, A well deserved hire. His team will be well prepared and play very solid defense for sure. His players will love him for sure and his Manual boys will miss him for sure. At Manual he took over the Defense, changed the scheme as well as the attitude of the players. He has left a solid foundation for the next DC at Manual to take over. I'm sure he will take a few Manual coaches with him as well. I look for a nice turn around for WHS this year.
  14. Any good Defensive Line Coaches out there looking for a place to coach next year send me your info and I will pass it on to Manuals' Head Coach, they are actively looking. THANKS
  15. For those who will brave the weather for 2-3 plus hours, I promise you a real treat. Both teams seem to be peaking at the right time which usually leads to a low scoring contest. If St X has not introduced any new wrinkles and Manual plays like the second half of last weeks game It won't be close. My guess is Manual 24 ST X 10. Great Defensive efforts by both teams. Manual looks like it has shored up it's special teams if not improved dramatically in the return game. I look for Special teams again to have some say in the final score. Stay warm if you venture over to P Level Road tonight to watch the fireworks...it should be a doozy.
  16. Partial Tear. He is fine now just waiting for college ball next year. No need to chance injury with a bright future.
  17. Sorry for the confusion, villecoach cleared it up for me. I think McCracken will be the best Non Super District team they will face this year. If you place MCC in the bottom bracket the would run thru it like a hot knife thru butter. The top bracket is loaded. Who ever comes out of it will be battle tested for sure and will have to fight the let down of playing a lesser opponent (my opinion) in BG. My 2 cents.
  18. I would not expect to see #27 in the game (NERO) this week. That said, Manual will be fine. Glory, Seen the South Haven film on maxpreps, No discipline on either side of the ball and at last look ranked #7 in 6A in their state. Hard to compare Apples to Oranges. South Haven looks athletic but size wise up front no comparison to DM. Good luck to both teams Friday.
  19. Remember Nero's injury was a slight tear not a total reconstruction. He has been working for weeks just waiting to make his return and trust me when he does it will be 100% and on a mission. Trust me when I tell you this Manual team is not looking past McCracken and is as focused as I have seen this group in the two years I have been watching them. Nero or not, they will show up, be prepared for the Air Raid Offense (#1 in the state I think, if not top 5 for sure), and give all they got for 4 quarters, this team will not quit and seems to get stronger as the game goes on. Wish the best of luck to both teams Friday but like Duncan McCloud always said "There can be only one".
  20. Manual traveled to Bowling Green this year and fared very well. Bus ride was 3 plus hours with construction. Shut the Purples out and put up 26 points on a very similar defense to McCracken. They look to be the fastest team they have faced this year but very similar to last years Butler team as far as speed. I expect Manual to put up 4 TD's and hold McCracken to a season low 2 TD's. McCcracken has not played a Physical and fast team built this year like Manual. And oh by the way guess who's back!!!!!! Rhymes with Hero!!!!!! Final - Manual 28 - McCracken 17. #11 is a stud for the Mustangs.
  21. There is a real good possibility but you never know.
