I'm not on a high horse. This is my third post on this thread. Show me where I said NKY teams were "afraid" to play Highlands. I'll wait. I never say the word "afraid" when talking about HS football, so your barking up the wrong tree. Rather than say afraid I would say they preferred not to play HHS. With Highlands being on a National stage in the recent past, it could be Highlands didn't want to play some or most NKY teams, and it wasn't because they were afraid.Do you think that is possible? This game didn't get to me. The game got to a lot of people. Show me where I said, fire the coach, find a new QB , go to the JV team to find better players, I'll wait.

After seeing T blow out Ensworth tonight at 45-0 with a running clock in the 3 QTR, Cooper better be careful of what they wish for. If your talking about NKY, right now they may be number one, but it's a long way before the season is over. Again congrats to Cooper.

What are you wanting to hear? The obvious has already been stated. Cooper played great and Highlands not so great, end of story. The sun will come up in the fort, just like always. The Birds will work on improving, just like always. Nothing to talk about on the CCH thread tonight? How can you hear the crickets chirping in Park Hills when your listening to the ones in Fort Thomas? :lol2:

I think the noise will be made if Cov Cath can pull off some wins against some of the big Ohio schools. Then beat HHS in the regular season. After that, it's who wants it more in the playoffs. If Cov Cath stays healthy, look out come playoff time. I don't know if Highlands is a good measuring stick this year. Quite a few teams seem to be very good this year, especially the out of state opponents. I love my Birds, but have a lot of concerns about this years team.

Excuse me? I must have taken a wrong turn. I'm looking for the ADULT thread on Cooper vs HHS. Is there a thread on Cooper vs SK? If not, somebody should start one.

Can you give us a little insight on the QB play? Any scrambles, keepers, draw plays that would indicate how well the QB can take a big hit? Were his passes on target and the receivers catching the ball well. I'm not comparing Hergott to any other previous QB's at HHS but I remember McCoy and Hoge and even Gino took some big hits and popped right back up. Has the accuracy of his passes greatly improved? From the sound of your previous post it sounds like he needs a lot more reps.true? From looking at the score the D had a rough night. I expect this St.X is a lot better Team than the ones they fielded in the recent years.

I couldn't find a roster, but found a commitment list. These players signed on Feb. 4th,2015. Jeff Christian, Demetrius Colbert, and Wayne Williams, signed with Ohio University. Jeff Christian is a 3 star DB 5'10 175 4.6 forty Wayne Williams is a 2 star DB 5'11 173 Demetrius Colbert (No specs listed.) Jordan Asberry (No specs listed) The US Military Acadamy.

I'm not a hater of any high school football team or program, but I find your comments interesting. The only team that can claim a "run" against Highlands is the Trinity Shamrocks and they were scrimmages. Highlands is 1 win and 1 loss verses T in the regular season. Just some food for thought. Not doubting your word, are you sure they were players? You don't build the tradition of Highlands football with players talking like that. Are you sure they just weren't pulling your leg?

Some of the best running backs I have seen over the past 50 years that I've been following HS football had no interest in playing college football. Heck, some didn't even go to college, and seem to be doing just fine. Life doesn't revolve around football at any level for the future of our young adults. Education is the most important and you don't have to be 6'4 and weigh 240 lbs and run a sub 4.5 forty to get an education. The examples I can just recall off the top of my head would be a very long list, not just RB's but all positions. The parents want there kid to get a free ride through college, I understand that. More often than that, if a kid does make it through college football, then the parents think that little Johnny will be playing in the NFL , chances of that are slim to none. Wish them all the best.

Your kidding, right? Playing CCH on a regular basis would be nothing but positive for the SK football program. Even if SK got smeared every game by CCH, it would be still be a positive. CCH is and has been respected for a long time, just because of their brutal schedules. They have been playing the big boys in Ohio for decades. SK will gain more respect for losing to the big boys, than to win against the smaller schools.

If you think SK will gain respect either playing Highlands tough or beating them, you might be right. The thing about it is, they lost to Highlands 25 times and I would guess the respect earned this year would be very small. One win against HHS, or if you lose a close one doesn't make SK an elite 6A program. Don't get me wrong SK continues to get better every year and has some great talent to go with it. No knock on SK at all. Just need some quality wins and not just one or two per season. Quality win in my books is being a big dog and end up winning the game. HHS would be a quality win, but if you get in the playoffs, and get pounded by a Louisville team, the HHS win wouldn't look that impressive, would it?
