  1. Jarod Griffin (the lefty) is a baller. LexCath only has one senior, they will only get better.
  2. Honestly though he didnt play anywhere up to his potential. He was plagued with foul trouble and didnt play most of the second quarter. Missed two dunks and floated around the perimeter when he had such a distinct height advantage. One wonders if he ever "gets the fire" how good he could be. I actually think that all the "chatter" that Robert Shaw was giving him got in his head.
  3. Back on the "team", currently at JV only He played in the St. X junior varsity game and was a complete non-factor scoring only two points Did not even dress or sit on the bench for the varsity game
  4. Other Notes: Attendance was 6,200 Freshman: Trinity 42-28 JV: St. X 51-41
  5. This game was not as close as the score indicated. The style of basketball Trinity plays does not lend to any real blowouts. Like discussed in other threads Trinity is just better at every position. X plays hard just not enough talent this year to compete with Trinity or Ballard (but then again there are very few that can).
  6. Is this the same person responsible for the seeding of the LIT?
  7. The rivalry aspect is the only thing that should keep it close. There is a very large talent difference between the two squads. It could potentially get out of hand.
  8. St. X wins by less than 10 St. X wins by more than 10 Trinity wins by less than 10 Trinity wins by more than 10
  9. I am assuming that you have seen both Betsy Lane and Johnson Central play? Just from the "eye test" can you truly say that the Bobcats are better?
  10. I am not sure I would term them a tough out yet, while they have won all but one of their games so far this season the schedule is more like a bakery...........lots of creampuffs. They have played one team in the top twenty and lost by 18 pts. Next Friday they play Louisville Trinity and then the LIT. Thats when you will find out it they are truly a tough out.
  11. The Tigers came back from a late fourth quarter deficit to tie the game on Robert Shaws length of the court driving lay up to force overtime. They end up winning the game thanks to Shaw's 38 points and some favorable officiating. Nathan Roush led the Colts with 27 points. The biggest news was off the court as DeSales star junior Chase Shellman was in a walking boot and did not dress for the game. The Colts win the game with Shellman and are probably the better team.
  12. Unfortunate luck for Trinity. I wonder how the game might have turned out if Spalding, lets say bumped heads with Martin and they both were out?
  13. Seven years is too long but Cutler is still there best option. McCown at 34, no way. You have seen this scenario so many times where a backup comes in for half a year and does well then everyone gets enamored with him (see Flynn). They can still draft a QB if they want and maybe use McCown as trade bait as someone will bite probably.
  14. So you don't think their game against Trinity was close? Boy I was there and it sure felt close. You don't think that Trinity losing Raymond Spalding for over half the game would make it even closer?
  15. The answer to your question Joker is Manual.
  16. Peyton Chase is a nice player for the Bobcats, but if they are the best team in the 15th that region then this might be the weakest region I have ever seen. They might be 5-5 but we all know that Johnson Central has the best team in this region.
  17. And now this genius, "Wyman", has created the "Bullitt East" rule that any team that does not participate will be fined $2000 and be inelligible to play in the LIT the following year. I agree that it was a good opportunity but they still blew off the LIT.
  18. Would you take back a kid who quit the team three hours before their biggest game of the year?
  19. Since the Bullitt County schools play in the same region as the "Louisville" schools, I think its fair that they participate in the LIT. The odd thing is obviously that Bullitt East is ranked number one and Ballard number three (most would agree that Trinity is good at two). Bullitt East has had a good start but really their "signature" win is over Collins? Even if you just want to consider KY games Ballard has beaten Scott County, NCC and Trinity. Easily alot better than any team Bullitt East has played. And to top if off Bullitt East blew off the LIT last year when they had star players Willis and Troutman. Additionally, if all pans out Ballard and Trinity will play in the semifinals on Saturday at 1130. Consider a two hour game then a 30 minute haul back to the east side of Louisville then turn around and be back to play the finals at 2000. Its seems like a very unusual situation this guy has created.
  20. Fleming County and Rowan County are still the class of the 16th region. Ashland has been a mild surprise but they got absolutely demolished by MoCo. Elliott County might have one of the weakest schedules in the state. If Burns comes back the only way they will not take the region is if the Panthers get outcoached by Thacker.
  21. The real winner here is PRP. Seeded under the radar and in the opposite bracket away from Trinity and Ballard. Looks like a free pass into the finals.
  22. Taken from the Courier Journal (no its not a misprint that they have Bullitt East number one, Trinity number two and Ballard number 3) ????? Here’s the schedule for the Republic Bank boys’ Louisville Invitational Tournament set for Jan. 13-18 at Valley High School. (Note: Holy Cross and Moore tied for the 20th and final spot in the field and will play at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5 at Valley to determine the final spot): Seeds in parentheses; all times p.m. unless otherwise noted * Monday, Jan. 13: Holy Cross-Moore winner (20) vs. Western (13), 3:30; Kentucky Country Day (19) vs. Butler (14), 5; Male (17) vs. Jeffersontown (16), 6:30; Seneca (18) vs. DeSales (15), 8:15 * Tuesday, Jan. 14: Iroquois (10) vs. Manual (7), 3:30; Eastern (11) vs. Doss (6), 5; Fern Creek (9) vs. Waggener (8), 6:30; Fairdale (12) vs. Pleasure Ridge Park (5), 8:15 * Wednesday, Jan. 15: Male-Jeffersontown winner vs. Bullitt East (1), 3:30; Holy Cross-Moore-Western survivor vs. St. Xavier (4), 5; Kentucky Country Day-Butler winner vs. Ballard (3), 6:30; Seneca-DeSales winner vs. Trinity (2), 8:15 * Friday, Jan. 17: Quarterfinals at 4, 5:30, 7, 8:30 * Saturday, Jan. 18: Semifinals at 10, 11:30 a.m.; final at 8
  23. It will be interesting to see if Trinity's run over the last few years can keep going. The dropoff from their heralded junior class to the soph/fresh is HUGE. With the loss of soph Knight-Goff it will be interesting to see how things go after next year. I know that is projecting very far ahead and anything can happen but its pretty noticable if you have seen any JV/freshman games.
