  1. I think its a good list. Everyone will have a couple of teams in a different spot but it looks very fair. Been fortunate enough to see 16 of the 20 and here are a couple of my impressions: PCC: good team but not overly impressed, FT shooting is not good at all. I would have LexCath ahead of them Doss: biggest disappointment team PRP: who knows where to put them, cannot figure out why they are so up and down. Two teams I really wanna see in the next month are MoCo and Lincoln Co.
  2. The stats I saw had LexCath's Jarod Griffin as 19 for 19 from the line in the tourney.
  3. Berkeley Prep (Tampa, Fla), undefeated and ranked number one in Florida Class 4A, who Trinity lost to won the tournament. Raymond Spalding was named to the all-tourney team. Justin Grey of Berkeley Prep (Texas Tech signee) was named the tournament MVP. FYI: Ballard won this tournament last year.
  4. LexCath is just a bunch of hard-nosed basketball players. I love watching them. It will be a war in this region but I hope they can make it out. Jarod Griffin is a tough customer too, cant say enough good things about this team.
  5. If I read the brackets correctly, they would be playing the "home" team of the tournament in Vanguard High School.
  6. Agreed, are you sure there is going to be a third place game?
  7. From the Ocala Sun Times: LOUISVILLE (Ky.) TRINITY 64, ORLANDO EVANS 45: The Shamrocks (8-2) blew open a one-point game at halftime by outscoring the Trojans 35-17 in the second half. Michael Stafford (12 points), Ray Spalding (11 points, nine rebounds), Trey Ivory (11 points, four assists), Craig Owens (10 points) and Daniel Ramser (9 points) led the way for Trinity. Kerry Blackshear was the lone player to score in double figures with 10 points for the Class 8A top-ranked Trojans (11-4).
  8. TAMPA BERKELEY 53, LOUISVILLE (Ky.) TRINITY 46: Justin Gray scored 15 points, while Craig Bowman (11 points, four assists, four steals) and N'Namdi Green (10 points) also played key roles for the Bucs (11-0), ranked No. 1 in Class 4A. Berkeley Prep used a 16-0 run that overlapped the two halves and wiped out a nine-point first half deficit, but the Shamrocks (7-2) battled back and took the lead by one with 2:26 left in the third. From there, the Bucs responded with a 10-2 run that encompassed the final two quarters and never let Trinity get closer than four points the rest of the way. Craig Owens (12 points, eight rebounds) and Raymond Spalding (11 points, seven rebounds) paced the Shamrocks, who hit just 16-of-54 shots overall and 3-of-15 from beyond the arc.
  9. They are playing in the Whataburger Tourney in Ft. Worth, Texas. They play again tonight in the semifinals against South Grand Prairie at 9:30pm
  10. 12/26/13 Maxpreps has Ballard ranked #64 in the country and #1 in Ky.
  11. I agree that Hoptown is one of the best teams in the state and unfortunately they do not seem to have a regular "poster" on this site. To answer one of your questions of who has played a tougher schedule? Trinity has yet to play a home game and has beaten: Johnson Central, Henry Clay, Lafayette, Fairdale, and PRP. But Trinity has gotten more "love" than Hoptown I agree.
  12. ?? Kelshawn Knight-Goff, the backup to Raymond Spalding and sometime starter, turned in his equipment before the KOB final against Ballard and has quit the team. He did not accompany the team to their tournament in Florida (Kingdom of the Sun in Ocala).
  13. A very nice compliment to the NCC program. Including this summer I have had to opportunity to see them play probably four or five times. Now that the season is underway it kinda looks like they may not be a super deep team. I love their brand of racehorse (or more appropriately thoroughbred) style but do you guys (much more close to the program) feel like this may be an achilles heel in tournaments? Especially the regional and state when u might have to play several nights in a row? Do you think they could "reel it in" a little and play a tad more deliberate? Do you think this would benefit them more in the long run?..
  14. The Spalding injury was more costly than the casual fan realizes. Earlier in the day the his backup Kelshawn Knight-Goff left the team.
  15. That may be the "rankings" as of now based on records, but I believe when all is said and done Johnson Central is the class of the 15th. Shane had a tremendous showing in the KOB
  16. And this statement is what I hope to get (and give if necessary) from BGP. A clear, logical, and accurate post based on fact of seeing the teams. Not a bunch of "homering"
  17. I was at both games tonight also. Ballard did not in any way smash Trinity.
  18. It is not straddling. Pointing out that there is no way PRP is a deserving preseason number two in the state was merely pointing out the truth. Even Coach Mabry said they were not a number two team in the state Then if you read this message board you might think that Ballard and NCC are the only two teams in the state. Again I point out ridiculous statements when posters say "PRP and Trinity would be smashed" by Ballard and NCC. I sometimes wonder if some of the posters actually go to games. It has nothing to do with picking a side. My alligence is with neither of these schools, nor should it matter.
  19. Where are all the posters who said the Ballard/NCC semifinal should really be the final since the "other" two semifinalists will get "smashed" on Monday night. Seems like the "other" two semifinalists held there own.........LOL
  20. Well if you are so interested. The original thread was locked for some strange reason but it was the CJ preseason top ten in which PRP was ranked second in the state. I pointed out that was entirely way to high for PRP and stated reasons to back it up. Including Trinity beating PRP 71-37 last year and again three times this past summer. Spindoc informed me that trophies are not handed out in the summer and to remind him in a month if he was incorrect. He was reminded last night.

  22. They let Fairdale get away with murder on defense. Guess it helps to the the "home" team.
