To beat Highlands, their offense will have to become more dynamic. From seeing the outcome of their game against Graves County last year, I would say they have a LONG way to go before being considered as a favorite over Highlands. And that will start with the QB position.... They also need to get Carothers, their best athlete, more touches and allow him to create in space.

In all honesty, and this is not a dig at the kid, but they will have to get a more athletic QB. Every year they have won State dating back to the 90's, they have had a QB that was a dual threat. If they can somehow find a QB that fills that void, they will make it back to State, otherwise I don't know that they can.

Only time a root against them is when they go against WC or South Warren. Otherwise I am a fan...

Trust me... I am NOT sleeping on KCC... Cameron Justice is the BEST player in the State! I just believe Bowling Greens defensive tenacity and quickness will give them problems.

Bowling Green has one thing that is very hard to Teach.... "HEART" and a lot of it! They refuse to quit against anyone and in a year when they were supposed to be worse then they have been in a while, they found a way to become top 25 in the State and make another trip back the Sweet 16. The scariest thing about them is their youngest players are probably their best players, and their speed and quickness 1-5 is tough to matchup against. They can beat you in so many ways because they are very versatile and play within themselves. Best thing about them is they play as a team It is not uncommon to look at the stat book following a game and see 4-6 players in double figures. My prediction is that they make another trip to the Final 4 where they lose to the eventual Champion Louisville Ballard.

A VERY young Bowling Green team is as good as Owensboro and Hoptown... Bowling green starts 2 Sophomores and a third is their 6th man. They played Owensboro earlier this season and it took 4 quarters and Overtime for Owensboro to beat the Purples... Let's not forget that Bowling Green has 2 starters and 2-3 other players back that contributed to their final four run last year.

Were the rankings off on Hendo or are the rankings off on teams from the rest of the state that are ranked above Hoptown??? My guess is the later of the two.... Bowling Green, Hoptown, Owensboro, and Graves/Murray will represent the Western part of the State well in the State Tourney.... I just hope the rankings next year will be a better reflection of the talented teams around the "Entire State" and not just the areas where the people ranking the teams live...

I think the question is just a question and I think by stating "Your Kid" in the question answers most of the questions that have arrizen in this post... Think of "Your Child" and their "Talent level, abilities, etc..." Know what would you do for them? I think it is not my motives that are ulterior but yours sir; to justify your decisions and association with a certain program...

Congrats to them... That is a program who does things the right way! Maze is a great guy and I wish them the best of luck this Summer!

All three of those Freshmen play for the Travelers... So far 5 of the top 6 Freshmen in the State play for the Travelers. Looks to be a great Summer!

Not a complicated question at all IMO.... I have a child and he would NEVER play on anyones B Team especially during the years when exposure is most important. If you feel otherwise for your child, that is fine, but I don't feel you should turn "What IS" a simple yes or no question into a more complicated one... And I feel GoHardITP gave valid reasons/examples for not having B Teams at the 16U/17U levels, so if you need 'variables, simply look back at his post. :thumb::thumb:

From what I understand, the Region is set up nicely for Fern Creek to make a run.... Great win for them!

So going back to the original question. Does it benefit your child at the "16U/17U" level to play for a B team? IMO and, as it seems, in many others opinions as well, it seems the answer is No.

I admittedly don't know as much about teams around the State in 4A as I would like, but one thing I can say with certainty is that Franklin is not better than South Warren. Especially with more and more of their players transferring down the street to South Warrens team...

This entire Class is a tough one too call because all of the top teams in 4A last season have either moved up to 5A or down to 3A.... When determining which teams should be placed where in my list, I first determined where they ranked in their perspective classes last season, and went from there. Because of that, it is very hard for me to call anyone the clear cut favorite. If there was a clear cut favorite, an argument could be made for South Warren considering their Top 4 finish last season in 3A, while also returning their entire team from last season.

They still have to play Central again.... How do you not understand that??? They can Waltz to the championship, but they still have to play WC.
