Have you seen every team in the State? SW was up 42-0 on Apollo halfway through the 2nd Qtr and they beat the #1 team in 4A by 30 points. I'd say that's playing better. JMO.... Lol!

No but John Hardin could possibly be... Let's just say JH and CC are equal; then the rankings should have stayed the same IMO. But it's your ranking so do as you please.

According to your logic then, why move the rankings at all? If it is splitting hairs, you should have left South at #1 ....

Great job; however I disagree with moving the #1 team SW down just because BG beat Christian County.... I understand you got some pressure from others to do this though....

PT just lost to Central Hardin by 20 points.... How does that affect their ranking?

The score to this game was 42-0 with about 3 mins to go before halftime. All starters were pulled at that point and by the 4th South was playing with their Freshman 3rd string QB. Things are setting up nicely for a great game between SW and Central Hardin!

I don't "LOVE" to see anyone lose... I have kids of friends on both sides of the field any time any school in BG/Warren County play. The only time I am happy when one of those other teams lose is when they are playing SW or WC. Otherwise, I have no emotions one way or the other. And when I throw "SHADE" towards something, you will know it..... It will not be subtle....

You are right about the losses last year, but the one I didn't see coming was the one to Graves County? I never saidy predictions were perfect. I don't know anyone's who is... I also remember you as well as most of the people on Bluegrass Preps not giving SW any respect at the beginning of last season, so it seems I am not the only one who can make mistakes. The reality is I think BG has some very talented playmakers this year. I also see some glaring weaknesses they have not had in the past. Monroe County moved the ball very well at several points throughout the game against BG. Had it not been for a few bad turnovers once they got across the 50, the score might have looked a little different. (Not saying they would have won) Christian County is a Far Cry from the 2A MC Falcons. They are big, strong, fast, and have one of the Best up and coming QBs the state has ever seen. The score could easily be BG 35- CC 31, but that is not my prediction. If that bothers you or anyone else so be it. If they win, I was wrong (not the first time, and won't be the last)....

???? Have you watched any of these teams actually play this season or preseason?

I am actually a fan believe it or not... Lol! But being a fan does not prevent me from giving an honest assessment either. I picked the Purples to win against Monroe last week and this week I think they may struggle against Christian County. Christian County has a High Major D1 QB that stands about 6'6" and has a cannon for an arm. They also have speedy receivers and a good enough offensive line to give their QB time to throw the ball. I think that both teams struggle to stop the others offense (hence the reason for the high score), but Christian County wins out in the end. I don't think my honest assessment has anything to do with SW. Please tell me you are not one of those BG fans who thinks that no one is Ever allowed to think BG could lose?

Thanks Tsyoung! I was impressed with Monroe County as well... It was tough to match BGs depth and athleticism, but I thought Monroe moved the ball well all night. They just had some costly turnovers. But they should do considerably better in 2A!

Christian County wins 35-31

Let's not forget that last season SW dismantled the Paducah Tilghman team that just beat MCracken by 14 pts. Not to mention the 30 point thrashing over a really good 5A John Hardin team. If BG beats Christian County as easily as they beat a 2A Monroe County team that only had 1 win last year, then maybe you can talk about them being number 1. Remember, this Purple squad is nowhere near the same team as the past several years, so let them earn their stripes...

After many questions about how the South Warren Spartans would adjust to the speed, strength, size, etc of teams in 4A, all those questions have been answered following South Warrens dominant 44-12 win over John Hardin (Preseason #1 in 4A). The Spartans have not missed a beat since their State Final 4 run in 3A last year. Returning virtually every starter from last season, the Spartans were ,by far, the more disciplined, more physical, and more athletic team on the field. Their entire arsenal was on full display! South Warrens defense has been the most dominant defense in the State over the past few years, but it was on this night that I left more impressed with their improvements on the offensive side of the ball. From the opening series, the Spartans showed that their passing game is going to be turned up a notch this year. Their stable of Recievers CJ Hayes, Bryan Cummings, Brycen Lacey, and Austin McElwain showed that they could possibly be one of the States top Recieving Corps... This group, along with QB Ryder Litten who is a threat through the air as well as on the ground, are sure to reek havoc I on opossing defenses the entire year. The three headed Monster at RB will get the job done! Devante Colton, Kayron Namvong, and Austin McElwain are being utilized in a RB by comitee system. The biggest surprise of this trio is the emergence of Devante Colton. Colton, already a beast on the defensive side of the ball and a member of USA Today's top players in KY, has shown some of the same ability at RB that got his Father a Football Scholarship to the University of Louisville. McElwain and Namvong will carry most of the load but Colton has proven that his ability to run between the Tackles is invaluable. The "Bash Brothers", AKA "J2" AKA "Double J", are a combined 500 lbs of Terror to opposing Offenses. Senior Jacob Wilde and Freshman Jacob Lacey imposed their will on John Hardin all night. These two have the rare combination of size and speed that make College Coaches salivate! Other defensive leaders include Brandon Sundale, Dimitri Bibb, Cameron Buckner, Franklin Williams, and Zach Haynes.... As good as these young men were defensively last year, it is a scary thought that they are all back and better than ever! As the season continues, I expect the Spartans to continue to impress. They are undoubtedly the top team in 4A, and their strength of schedule should have them fully prepared for anything they may see in the playoffs. Last years Sleeping Giant is now this years Leader of the Pack.... It's gonna be a great season. Go Spartans!

Their passing/Recieving game was very good as well!

Nothing against Monroe, but I really wish the Purples would schedule a tougher opponent next year.... BG will not have the benefit of playing 2A teams in the playoffs. SMH... They should have accepted South Warrens invitation to play in the Raffertys Bowl THIS YEAR, but they declined.

You are old school and those are not Ws.... Kids these days don't even know what gang signs are and I ASSURE you these kids don't. See contrary to what your "old school" thinking may be, most of these student athletes are 3.5-4.0 GPA students. So despite your distasteful comment, everyone of these young men are far from it and have very bright futures ahead of them... What is sad is that you are a local of the BG area and you are making comments like this to stir the pot.

BG will win easily... The Purples will run a million screen plays getting the ball into the hand of their best athletes to make plays.

South Wins 24-7 in what looks to be a good game on paper. In the end, experience, coaching, and a team first mentality win out. #300Crew #SpartanNation
