  1. A lot of what you have written is pretty much what I have observed as well. The KC game was a thing of beauty. They absolutely looked like a Top Ten team that night. It's crazy that it all went away so suddenly. They were on course to doing something really special. Maybe they still will make it a special season but they are running out of time to pull it together.
  2. Two of my favorite ladies--- Mamaw and Goldie. A seamstress and a cook!!! Though, I bet each of you are good at both.
  3. I knew it. With all of that delicious food you talk about fixing, I knew you probably enjoyed sharing it with others.
  4. Sounds sexy. Maybe even a bit risqué.
  5. Do you think the coach has lost this team ? Are they still buying in to what he's telling them? They looked so damned good in the Knox Central game. The sharing of the ball was beautiful to watch. They just carved up a good KC team that night. It hasn't been the same since "videogate."
  6. Looking forward to following his career at NKU. I enjoyed seeing him and Taylor go at in Corbin. They seemed to be having a blast going against each other. A big embrace after the final horn... I think both kids scored 33.
  7. Rodney was the first in a line of really good coaches at Corbin High School. Followed by Hicks, Deaton , and Pietrowski. Coach Woods met his wife at Corbin. I graduated with her older sister.
  8. Never EVER count out a Rodney Woods- coached team. He will out-couch your team more often than not.
  9. This game takes place a couple blocks from my former homeplace. I may have to journey up to my old stomping grounds to see this one. These two teams may be playing the best ball of anyone right now. Should be a slobberknocker! I'm rooting for the Tribe but I'd probably take CC if I was a betting man.
  10. Hounds led by 8 early in the second half but couldn't hold it. Corbin was without 565 pounds of flesh down low and it showed. Both of their big boys, Ethan Wine and Bayley Rice, were out. The Hounds would have had an excellent shot at winning if both bigs had played. The game was a two or four point contest with about 2-3 minutes remaining. Taylor had 22 , 10 , and 6 . Fitzgerald had 20 for the Maroons.
  11. This is a slam dunk for me. One of my favorite shows of all-time and a hit for The Ventures. Few TV show theme songs have been Billboard hits. The Five-O theme hit #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in 1969. Enjoy...
  12. I blind people with science and math.
  13. After the trades, I now think maybe it's more likely that Houston makes the finals than the Cavs falling short. After the "new" Cavs first performance, they may now be the favorites in the Eastern Conference.
  14. I agree. Does anyone know the criteria used for determining the Mr. Basketball? What kind of things do voters look at? Just stats? Off - court(+/-) ? Career numbers or Just senior season? The vote is after the season is over, right?
  15. Yes. I knew a woman who was very much into men physically and definitely considered herself heterosexual, yet she had a long six or seven year relationship with a woman. She said, for her, the woman/woman relationship was primarily about the emotional bond. Some women connect better emotionally with another woman. Apparently the lady that the author of this thread referred to put her physical preference for men aside in order to nurture the emotional needs that her female partner fulfilled at the time.
  16. If Taylor keeps his head on straight , he has the chance to have a really nice career. I said the same for former Corbin guard Rick Jones. I watched Rick play from the time he was a little guy . He starred on the Corbin varsity his eighth grade, freshman, and sophomore years. Rick then transferred to Scott County to play for former Redhound coach Billy Hicks, won a state title and a Mr. Basketball, and received a scholarship to Vandy. He set the SEC tournament record for 3 pointers in a game(8). That's where the good news ended for Rick. If anyone wants meet to fill in the remaining blanks for Rick Jones' story, I will be glad to do so. Just let me know. I can see Andrew , who I believe is potentially as good as Rick, having a very successful career if he is able to manage life away from the friendly confines of the small town home he grew up in. Former Mr. Basketball Rick Jones , like Taylor, grew up in Corbin. Jones, unfortunately, didn't manage his life away from Corbin very well. Bad decisions and episodes of terrible judgment did in the former Mr. Basketball. Which path will the present Mr. Basketball candidate take? A superlative college career without incident or a road paved with pot holes , hard knocks, and a life that falls short of promise and expectation? Hopefully, he will learn from Rick's story. Btw, for those who are unaware, Andrew will attend Furman University, the same school where another Corbin native, Frank Selvy, left his mark. Selvy scored 100 points in a game versus Newberry College in 1954, the only Divison I player ever to do so. Here's hoping that Andrew Taylor leaves his own indelible mark at Furman.
  17. I had the pleasure of watching Charles Thomas of Harlan back in the day. He was 3S ... super, scintillating , sensational. To pass Mr. Thomas' scoring mark is a terrific accomplishment.
  18. Did I not tell you all that you'd be surprised by this one? Someone said MC would win by 25. I said, no way. Having said that, if Corbin shares the ball, they will take the district over South.
  19. Honestly, in order for Corbin to make one more trip to Lexington(third time the charm, hopefully), they are gonna need to share the ball a lot better. The sharing of the ball in the Knox Central game was incredible. It hasn't been as good since then. Andrew needs to distribute the rock to his teammates and they need to finish. Taylor can get his 26 and the team can still be successful when others step up. When Andrew goes for 45, but doesn't engage the other guys or other guys don't step up, the team is not as successful. I know the coach and everyone around the program wants to see him break records, but in order for the team to reach its fullest potential, there needs to be more ball sharing and scoring from others. Taylor has a good supporting cast if they are utilized efficiently.
