That is a pretty dang sweet field. I love how the end zone has the bowl effect with the hill. We have a team here in Georgia that comes running out of the woods. It's can be intimidating when they're good.

Georgia has these all through out the summer. We just go shells and we butt up but it's still physical as heck and gets the 7v7 mentality out of our system. I personally love these camps as it lets me 1. See what concepts we're strong and weak at. 2. See what our transfers look like in pads. 3. How well our team chemistry is. 4. See how the jv kids have evolved over the offseason 5. Gives us some great competition that we won't get for several weeks. I see nothing wrong with them now that I've been to a few. Heck, I saw more injuries during 7v7 than our 3 day contact camp.

Georgia is far and away the hotbed for coaches in the Southeast. We pay more than anyone around us and we produce a ton of talent every year. Every year several state championship winning coaches from other states come to Ga. There are coaches that make 120gs a year in certain areas and they only have to coach. Sure, they'll be in charge of the cafeteria during lunch but they'll get two other period for "football operations" and on planning period and never step foot in the classroom. I don't know who told your buddy that about Ky but I would think that applies to every where and not just Ky. And I'll be curious to see if Carlberg and Hobbs can do anything at their schools. Both are tough to win at and both have a strong disadvantage.

They went 10-3, 6-5, 3-8 in the years before he was hired. Maybe the talent was drying up and he saw the writing on the wall.

Valdosta's win percentage will be going down from here on out. They are a city school with no room to expand and they play up a level every year plus the county they're in, Lowndes, has over taken them. Not to mention they're in the SEC of high school regions.

Even if UK could keep all of the top instate talent it's going to take more than that to be middle ground every year.

Maybe, maybe not. I've had several coaching buddies get a head gig and then the principle won't hire football coaches. They'll hire softball, volleyball, basketball, anything but football after the first year or so. Or they get a new principle who wants to bring in their own guy and makes the job as hard as they can for them.

Yup, Trinity is the only school to ever get impact transfers.

I can't speak for a parents intentions but I had several more kids I played with at Trinity that graduated at 19 than I do at the school I coach at now which is similar in the amount of kids that play football. And I haven't really seen someone here or there be held back for athletics. Here are mostly kids that needed an extra year academically in elementary school.

You don't know that for sure. He might be a homerun hire or he may be in over his head but no one will know until they put the pads on this season. Hopefully he'll bring some fire to the program and get kids to buy in quickly.

Most teams show tremendous improvement from year 1 to year 2.
